Dr. Tarika Bhuta, MD

Dr. Bhuta is without any doubt one of the most caring ENT doctors around. She gives you personal first class customer service. Most doctors I have seen my doctors in the past were holding on the door knob at the examination room ready to leave; yet she sits down and gives you her undivided attention. If you are looking for a Great ENT look no further than Dr. Bhuta.

Dr. Bhuta took my tonsils out about 18 months ago. I had a TERRIBLE experience post-op. I had severe pain and dehydration. I found the staff at Dr. Bhuta's office to be rude and unfriendly and they did not seem to care at all about my pain or recovery. I do not think that this doctor has much experience with adult tonsillectomies and how awful the recovery is, since children have a much different and easier recovery period. Also, after about 3 months post-op when my sense of taste was still totally off, I called and was told by the nurse, "I have never even heard of that happening." Then I got a voicemail a few days later saying that the doctor said my taste should return to normal eventually. It did not. My sense of taste has been severely altered since the surgery, leading to a large weight loss, vitamin deficiency and overall loss of enjoyment with eating. It has been totally life changing for the worse! When I have called to speak with Dr Bhuta's office about this issue more… recently, I did not even receive a call back. I have since seen another ENT who described their recovery process for adults as much more intensive, bringing patients back for post-op follow-up more frequently to manage pain and dehydration. I was not informed by Dr. Bhuta about loss of taste as a possible complication prior to surgery...at all... she did not even mention this to me. I am very disappointed with my experience with Dr. Bhuta and the staff at this office. If you are an adult needing tonsillectomy, I recommend going to Dr. Sciacca instead.
