Dr. Karim is onenof the best doctors around. What I most about his office is that even if I dont have an appointment I know they will always fit me in the same day I call or walk in. Also I love all the resources he has in his office: Ultrasound,xray, lab and sleep lab. He truly is a one stop shop. Dr. Karim will get to the bottom of whatever is going on with you. Last but not least his staff are so friendly and make you feel like there own family. I would recommend this doctor and staff to anyone!

This year physicians nationwide overreacting to Federal mandates regarding use of opiates for pain management. I was charged in May for $346.00 for Karim's "random" out of network urine drug screen by my ins. company. Two months later I was kept waiting for almost an hour for the monthly script I've been on for over seven years now, since extensive back surgery, and resulting neuropathy. Then I was taken to a back room labeled "biohazard" where nurse snapped on gloves and abruptly said Dr. requesting another random urine screen. Really. Ink not dry on payment for his first "random" drug screen, which was ok. I got up and walked out, can't afford well health care when busy using up limited resources for his random drug screens. Now suffer from severe chronic back/leg pain and severe depression. The opiate withdrawal affects have been awful. Told my new doc I refuse to take opiates for pain again, I will not be treated like a criminal again by anyone, as I am not a criminal or "bad"… person. I'm in my 60's and too old and crippled for that nonsense.

He told me I had no cartilage left in my knees. He tried to sell me hyaluronan injections. I settled for cortisone that was ineffective. Ended up going to Ortho who actually took x-rays (10) and he told me my knees were fine.

I also was accused of selling my pain meds. He would make me run out before refilling. Then went as far as to send somebody else's blood to the lab I guess. I am a medical Marijuana patient and that came up negative too. He's supposed to help in pain management, what a joke!!! Glad I moved on from his ridiculous practice.

I also was sent to Dr. Karim when my primary Dr. left and he had a bias against me for my use of pain medicine ( going in for back surgery multiple problems). I was drug tested and he said my meds were not in my system and accused me of selling my meds. I was due for a refill and came a day late so of course not in my urine. I requested a blood test he said 3 meds were not in my blood. I also take 2 for sleep disorder. He LIED!!! I left his office crying after being accused of this and being belittled. It is not easy being 30 and disabled and then denied proper Medical care and respect! I had no medicine for 3+ months because I wont be treated like a criminal and its wrong to have to suffer. Pain is not something to be judged by.

my records were sent to this man after my doctor retired. I require pain meds. as I have an undissolvable blood clott. After requesting a refill for pain med. I was given a test for marawana and was told it was positive, I do have frends that use it so I told him so and just let it go at that. The next time I asked for a refill I was tested again and was told it was positive again. I said NO WAY, because I had not been around anyone, no second hand smoke, nothing. He said I was lying," everyone in the county smokes it , even our president smokes it ". I went home and told my wife and she said they sell test kits at the drug store, so I went and bought one and tested myself, the test was negative . This man who calls himself a Dr. is a LIAR, I would never recommend him under any circumstance, a Dr. should hold himself to a higher standard than to make up lies because he doesn't want patents who take pain medication. I would have understood if he had told me he didn't want me as his… patient, but to make up lies is discusting and unprofessional. One more thing, his nurse said a red flag was raised because the last time I told her I took the med. every 6 hours, this time I told her 4 times a day, I said I thought it was the same thing, so she started counting on her fingers, 6, 12, 18, oh , yes I guess it is. I would be AFRAID to go to this practice ever again!!!

I go with my mom on her office visits, Dr Karim is very good at what he does, I would put my life in his hands anytime, He as so far never taken chances with my mom, Today she is doing much better...

I completed a sleep study at the Hidden Meadows (Hillsdale, Michigan) medical building, and I was informed that within 2-3 days my primary care physician (whose office is in the Hidden Meadows building) would have the results of the study and be able to recommend treatment procedures to me. I phoned after 4 days, 5 days, and 6 days. Seven days after the sleep study and my repeated phoning and being referred from each of three offices -- one to another, I was informed that "a stack of sleep study results" had been carried out of the office today, and that they will be hand carried the next day to the Hillsdale hospital for completion by the "medical records" typing pool. I was told that in "two days or so," the report should be finished, after which it could be forwarded (hand carried again?) to my physician at Hidden Meadows. These repeated delays are absurd! This is 2011. A competent, conscientious physician could dictate a report while perusing the data compiled by electronic… devices during the sleep study. A modern doctor would use fax machines -- place calls on a telephone -- send emails -- get his work done!If Tariq Abdel-Karim, M.D., does not want to serve patients in a timely manner, let him resign the position, now -- please. Let him get out of the way! Let someone willing to do the work of patient care assume the position and produce results for people of the Hillsdale community.Most workers understand that their assignments have consequences for the welfare of other persons, and they accept that responsibility. If Tariq Karim, M.D., does not care to serve others, or cannot manage his life in such a way as to accept adult responsibility, then patients should be informed that he is inept, so they can choose alternative medical service providers. May this report inform other persons to go elsewhere!
