Dr. Tariq Latif, MD

He has no clue, will misdiagnose you and prevent you from getting proper treatment. Absolutely worthless to see. What a joke of a Psychiatrist.

I met Dr. Latif in a Hospital atmosphere where I had been admitted after experiencing a traumatic event that caused anger, exhaustion both physical and mentally, and extreme grief. I was admitted to the hospital with suicial thought due to severe loss and grief companied with extreme exhaustion. I continueously requested rest and grief couceling and did not get either. Instead, I was noted as being narcisstic and Cluster B traits with a history of depressive disorder.I expressed a history of abuse in childhood and marriage and how I had tried to overcome this abuse using my business as a source of a possitive productive atmosphere for not only myself but my family. This business was a farm where I taught riding lessons,worked with handicapped children, trained horses and ponies and I also did parties off premises and supported my daughter in her riding education which was proving to be a positive influence on her developemental skills. It also was an excellent way for my husband… to overcome his alcholism by not only attending AA meetings but becoming a part of a productive atmosphere in which he too was able to experience growth and acceptance in society in a very positivemanor. It did work very well.This business was developed over many years of training animals that became an extremely valuable asset to every aspect of the business and lessons and providing each family member a matched partner to accompany them while they worked within the community and, in my daughter's case, provided an equine partner capable of moving forward with her as she learned and grew thru riding and competing in an upward motion. These animals were very valuable and irreplacable. Many of these animals were destroyed by the neglegence of a neighbor who, inspite of being informed on the significance of containing their dogs, did not respect the continuous request of patient. Instead, the neighbor let their dog loose late at night while the patient slept and the dogproceeded to severely damage years of hard work that affected not only the patient, but the business, her daughter, and her husband. Within Dr Latif's written medical records of the patient were many indications of the real mental injury being displayed by the patient. The patient repeatedly expressed the desire for rest as she was at the point of complete physical and mental exhaution as well as shock and trauma.Dr. Latif, observing the anger and the patient trying to disclose what was lost,recorded that the patient was narcissistic and had cluster B traits.This set a path for a continuation of trauma to the patient. Dr. Latif had noted all that was needed to diagnose this patient properly. The diagnosis should have been COMPLEX POST TRAUMATIC DISORDER. Had Dr. Latif payed attention to his own observations, He would have clearly seen a hypervigilant patient that is clearly difined as one who does not respond to antidepressants. He should have clearly, by his own accounting, seen that this patient had just experiened a event that, even though she had managed to address her own history of said disorder, had taken all that she had used to help herself and her family and destroyed it. The patient then was completely overcome and her fight against Complex Post Traumatic Disorder was greatly jepordized.Because of Dr. Latif's diagnoses, the patient was not treated properly and suffered more trauma. The patient was unable to get the help needed due to the debt incurred by the loss along with the inability to earn income due to the loss of animals that were used for the business she had.The proved to be even more damaging to the patient as what ever help she could manage to get was based on a poor evaluation/diagnosis. Dr Latif's poor diagnosis also made it impossible for the patient to recover the medical loss thru a lawsuit as all of his damaging incorrect evaluations would be sited and used to further traumatize his patient, the victim. This would have ultimately caused further damage to a patient who already was addressing Complex Post Traumatic Disorder. The patient remains in need of help to over come all this damage. However, Dr. Latif's failure to diagnose the patient correctly has and is greatly impairing the patients ability to financially attain the therapy that is greatly needed.

I was forcibly checked into a psych ward by this man after the anxiety I checked into the ER for didn't go away. The hospital billed me over $7000 for three days (the legal maximum for observation). I had to spend a night listening to people screaming at walls. This man is, in my opinion, a poor diagnostician (his diagnoses have been shot down by several doctors I have seen since) and very unfriendly. This man almost ruined my life, and at the very least made it take a significant turn for the worse for many months.

Dr. Latif was very cordial during my evaluation. The problem is that he kept me waiting several hours before I could be seen. When I finally was seen by him he provided an incorrect diagnosis that has led to me having many out of pocket expenses that I can not afford. Don't let his charm persuade you into something that you will later regret. Also ensure that you take the time to read everything cafefully before signing anything. I had to learn that lesson the hard way. I would not recommend him to anyone I know. I found out that health care is "big business". Those tests they want to run are not free. Someone has to pay for them, make sure it's not you.
