Dr. Tarique Moin Zahir, MD

I saw Dr. Zahir for a few years. Generally I liked him and thought him pretty good, though often a bit too peripatetic if not outright ADD during the visits. I don't ask or expect much from primary care physicians, and even was willing to overlook his prescribing the wrong dosage for a medication because he failed to read the relevant research for its use in my condition which I provided for him. However, over the past year and a half, the office started trying to force me to come in for routine refills on medication I've been taking stably for decades. There is no medical reason for me to come in and I never had to come in for refills of the same meds with previous primary care physicians (or with him until recently.) Dr. Zahir knows that not only do I have a physical with him every year, but have an extremely comprehensive physical from the fire department annually as well. The only conceivable reason he wants me to come in 4 times a year now to write my refills is $$s. This… month was the last straw. The office refused to refill a prescription once again unless I came in and additionally refused my request that he recommend a specialist. Again they wanted to force me to come in. However my insurance does not require referrals for specialists so would likely deny the claim if I went in for that. I tried to explain this via email but they ignored numerous messages. It was only after I told them I was done and going to get a new primary care physician did they bother to respond. And still they made no apology. Because of their delay I may not be able to get the procedure I need from the specialist before my deductible goes back to zero next month. So their greed may cost me a thousand dollars. I cannot state strongly enough that my statement that there is no medical reason for me to come in is factual and not opinion. I myself am a medical professional and my wife is a physician, and she agrees that the there is no medical justification for me coming in for this. Others have concurred. The only reason is to bill my insurance (or me.)

I have had enough of guided f...ing choices: you provide a service of which I tell you what I want to do and what I want not your f...ing friends.

Dr. Zahir and Dr. Mir have a great practice, they are easy to find, have a welcoming office and front desk staff and are wonderful people to work with! Highly recommend this practice.

I've been seeing Dr. Zahir for several years. He helped bring my diabetes and HTN under control when both were really bad. I am also participating in their weight loss program and have lost 45 pounds so far. Dr. Z is always helpful, addresses all concerns, and has even followed up with me by phone when needed. I often say, and truly believe, that I would not still be alive if it weren't for Dr. Z. I can recommend him and Femme Care/Prosperity Internal Medicine highly and without reservation.

Lorraine is the worst office manager ever. She gave me incorrect information. She was rude to me and her staff. After one hour, she asked me if I still wanted to see the doctor about being sick. I told her yes and then she told me that I couldn't because the doctor had left for the day. She was completely rude in every step of the process. She has made my experience with this facility less than one star.

Talks more than he listens. Front office staff bored and lackluster, runs late, wrong diagnosis. What more could you want!

I've been a patient for 4 yrs. Dr. Zahir is always pleasant, up to speed on newest treatments, is always a very positive influence.

I think Dr. Zahir is certainly competent, but he seems to be a checklist guy. He glossed over a few things I mentioned that were probably clinically relevant and regurgitated well-known info a bit too much without attempting more clarity or personal tailoring of advice/findings.This isn't a warning or a poor recommendation, but if you're looking for a bit more connection or explanation, you might try elsewhere.

Staff and policies of the office are terrible.
