Dr. Tarun Kumar Sharma, MD

Do not go to this guy. He is rude. Will not listen to you. Does not care about anything except billing you. What a piece of trash.

Our first meeting with the Doctor he commented that sh*t happens. He ordered tests that were relayed to us by the health department rather than he who ordered them.

Very poor bedside manner, he has a big ego and put down, laughed and rolled his eyes when I explained my symptoms and the approach I took to relieve my symptoms. I was embarrassed and if wasn't already prepped for the colonoscopy I would have left. I am surprised to see that other patients had positive comments. He is insulting and I will never go to him again.

The visit was horrible. Dr. Sharma had no bedside manners and no willingness to listen. During my visit he didn't even have his shoes on! Obviously he thinks that he is to good for his shoes in a professional setting unlike the rest of the American public. He was not willing to examine me, or my pain symptoms. Dr. Sharma wanted his appointment to go as quick as possible on the jeopardy of his patient. Having gone to other GI Drs I have never been treated so bad. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!

After several grueling years of my partner becoming debilitatingly sick and a string of unhelpful doctors, Dr. Sharma finally listened to the symptoms instead of the blood test numbers and diagnosed Celiac. Even when the tests came back inconclusive he was more interested in what the body was actually doing than the numbers. He said that certain disorders simply didn't have 100% reliable tests, and that false positives and negatives are common. So few doctors are confident enough to admit the limitations of available medical technology. Dr. Sharma seemed entirely comfortable without the arrogance and inflated ego of many specialists. He recommended a gluten-free diet and gave good advice on how to make the transition. His final diagnosis was based on the fact that the symptoms fit and the treatment worked. It was all so simple that it seemed fantastic that so many doctors and specialists never even considered it! All they had to do was look at him as a person instead of a… collection of data. Follow-up appointments were with nurse practitioners instead of Dr. Sharma, but they were helpful, friendly and knowledgeable.

I am not a patient of his, however, my mom and sister both are and I have been by their sides when he came in after their procedures. He was nothing but caring and professional and answered all of our questions and then some. He had very good bedside manner. I would recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Sharma has no bedside mannner.He showed very little concern for my problem. The only thing he was interested in is booking another expensive procedure. It took me over a month to recover from my outpatient experience and there was no surgery involved! I had this procedure done before by a Kalamazoo Doctor and never had the pain and discomfort I had with Dr. Sharma.
