Dr. Taryll Lamont Jenkins, MD

I too, had a good experience with Dr. Jenkins initially. Until I got pregnant. I will start off by saying this has taken me 2 years to finally write this as I really have not wanted to have to go through this experience again but really feel that I need to for others and to move forward as I think about it very often like PTSD. After having a hard time conceiving, I was finally able to with my first pregnancy. I called and made an appointment with Dr. Jenkins. I ended up starting to bleed at work on a Friday. I went home and didn’t move from bed all night because I was scared. I ended up with such worry and anxiety that I barely slept and decided since I was still bleeding and it being a Saturday, that I would go to a remote ER. I called ahead to make sure they could do an ultrasound. They did the ultrasound, saw the baby, everything looked ok but though it might be a subchorionic hemorrhage. Still worried, I called Dr. Jenkins office first thing Monday and requested to speak to his… nurse. I explained what was happening as I was still bleeding and that I also wasn’t sure if I should take my anxiety medications for baby’s safety but I was having such bad anxiety over bleeding. My appointment was scheduled for that Thursday and she tried to get me to keep it at that but I pushed back to come in sooner. The nurse said she would ask/check with Dr. Jenkins. She called back saying that Dr. Jenkins said just to keep the Thursday appointment. So I went in on Thursday only to get an ultrasound first thing and then the tech to say she didn’t see any baby. I went in to see Dr. Jenkins who confirmed I was/had lost the baby. I was very upset and told him about how I called to come in sooner and he stated that it wouldn’t have changed anything. I explained that I was aware that you cant stop a miscarriage, I’m not an idiot, but if I had come in, maybe we could have seen sooner so I wouldn’t have had my nerves/anxiety on edge all week which doesn’t help, when we already knew something was off with bleeding, rather than coming in to expect to see a baby and see nothing. I advised him it’s about being supported by your Dr. especially when you call and ask to be. Dr. Jenkins responded by saying that I should have pushed harder with his nurse then when I called to get in sooner and that as I could see, he is way busier then when I had last gone into see him however long ago that was. So not only am I not getting any support, you’re blaming me and making excuses. I was PO’d to say the least especially with what I was already going through at the moment just finding out I lost my baby. We discussed the ER visit and the results of that ultrasound trying to get a bit of answers. Dr. Jenkins said that he could order the actually ultrasound CD, take a look and let me know his opinion. I signed the form with his office for them to order it from the ER. I had a bad feeling about it so I went into the ER a week or so later to get a copy myself and asked them if anyone else had requested a copy. They said no! I never heard from his office again. Obviously I was NEVER going back to see Dr. Jenkins again after how this was handled or lack thereof and how I was treated, so I decided not to even follow up with them. But again, not to do what you said you would after all of that adds a whole other level a shady crappiness to the whole situation! I will never get this out of my mind and have relived this situation and his words in my head many times and I’m sure I will never fully heal from this. Its almost irrelevant of the miscarriage. It’s the treatment of the professional you’re relying on a such an important scary time and how that resulted. I REALLY hope no one else has to go through this, this way with him.

Unfortunately I have been seen by him for the last six years when his practice was smaller and it was just him I'm not sure what has gone on but he's gotten very Hollywood and the care of his patients is no longer his best interest. All weekend I was in the hospital and talk to his on-call nurse Monday when the office Open I called early in the morning at nine and was told he will call me back at 10 I was having a medical emergency that I wanted his consultation on and called to speak to him as he instructed me the last time I visited him. Upon holding for a hour and 20 minutes his staff refused to get him on the phone and just kept telling me he's in rooms with patient and would not interrupt his clinicals. I was seeking the medical advice from my doctor someone I thought I trusted as I am laying on a hospital bed getting stressed out because the office will not transfer my car my mother then called to try to speak with him which she has many times before and the office manager was… very rude per usual and my mother told her that she would be on the way to try to get an answer in person. When she arrive the police have been called he then 20 minutes after the hour and a half got on the phone and was very short conversation. Besides waiting hours in his office to be seen on regular visit days I will no longer allow him to treat me . And truly dont appreciate the treatment to a loyal patient specially under very stressful times VERY DISAPPOINTED he never use to be like this currently the the money has gotten to him

The doctor himself is very nice! I would of like to have continued care with him throughout my pregnancy! However, the office manager, Katie, did not like me and instead made excuses about my insurance and that I would need to transfer! I work in the medical field but did not let her know that. I know how insurance works and she was not willing to work with me. She is very unprofessional, even left me a voicemail to say she hasn't received a request from another doctor! Meanwhile, I'm 5 months pregnant stressed now to find a new doctor because of her unprofessionalism! This is an emotional time for a first time pregnant women and for her actions to be displayed that way! I would not recommend going there due to the office manager. I feel sorry for the doctor and not knowing what she is doing!

he delivered both of my babies with me having no problems and he is the only doctor i will ever go to!!!

Horrible staff, did not make me feel welcome. They dismissed my complaint for waiting 47 minutes as if it was nothing. Do not waste your time here!!!

I've been going to Dr Jenkins for years and refer all my friends to him. He and his staff have been wonderful and are always attentive. He has a great bedside manner and I've never felt rushed and always ask tons of questions that he takes the time to answer...all of them. Wait time varies but it's never bothered me. For goodness sake, he's delivering babies!!!

Just started going to Dr. Jenkins after delivering 2 children with another Dr. He seems to be a nice Dr., however he doesn't carry your files with him, and asks me questions he should know like when was my last ultrasound. On top of waiting for an hour plus to see him. I believe they over book appts. My first 2 labors were fairly smooth and I hope he's not a dr. That rather do an episiotomy or c-section for his time convenience. I'm praying I won't regret switching obs.I

Dr. Jenkins is a good doctor. He isn't the problem, his staff is the problem. His nurse's name is April. She's a professional. I haven't had any problems with her. His office manager's name is Katie. She is a uncaring, cruel, vile, unprofessional, rude, malicious, nasty woman with an attitude to match. I have NEVER had to deal with such a person in a doctors office. You will not be able to speak to the doctor because she guards him like a pit bull. And, if in fact you do get a chance to speak with him, her word is the alpha and omega. She's dishonest and unorganized. I don't know if she is perhaps his wife or even is girlfriend becauseI honestly cannot understand how and why he has her speaking to pregant women or anyone PERIOD. She would be better suited working in a prison environment because she shows absolutely no caring toward the patients. You could be hemorraging in the floor and if she say you can't see or speak to the doctor, it WILL NOT HAPPEN!! Word to the wise. If… you have to see him in an emergency, please do. If you want to see him as your regular OB/GYN, look for another doctor.

Saw him for the 1st time today. Staff was super nice. I didn't spend a ton of time with him as he was called into surgery a couple time. I was glad to see how fast he ran when these occured. Any patient should feel great that if it was you in an emergency or whatever it was he ran. When he came back seemed really on the ball and caring. So far I am glad I chose him and look forward to having him continue our care. Thanks Dr. Jenkins & staff.

Dr. Jenkins is the Best ever!!!! Professional and compassionate. He delivered my child 4 months ago and even though I was having complications with my pregnancy he always knew how to keep me calm. Thank you for a wonderful experience in my third pregnancy .
