Dr. Tatiana Laurence Huguenin, MD

My first appointment with Dr. Huguenin was fantastic, she was kind and took her time with me, over an hour. However, that was it. Every appointment since then, I've had to wait at least an hour and a half to be seen and when she does come in, she does not remember anything we've talked about, any of my history, any tests or treatments we've already tried. Most of the visit is taken up by me repeating myself for the umpteenth time. For instance, one visit we decided to try to wean me off one of my meds. It didn't work, I flared pretty badly, so we decided I couldn't go off it. 6 months later, she suggests going off it again. I reminded her we already tried it and she said she didn't remember and it wasn't in her notes and she didn't think I needed the med so I should stop taking it....what?!?!?! She also dismisses me anytime I tell her I'm having pain, she always says it's just muscle strain even though I have several autoimmune diseases. She makes me feel like I'm bothering her and… complaining and there's nothing wrong with me. I'm in my 30's and have been dealing with poor health since my teens. I still work full-time, I'm not on any pain medications, yet she makes me feel like I'm making things up and am not trying hard enough to feel better. "Try tai chi, that will make you better!" Yeah....I'm looking for a new doctor.

Recommended to me by my ophthalmologist in 2009. I am very satisfied with her care. Takes time to explain labs and other tests. Gives suggestions for alternative health treatments in addition to regular medical modalities.

I normally don't bother with reviews, but feel compelled to warn people away from this 'so called' doctor. I waited an hour and then when I finally saw her, got a vibe that I was bothering her, she wasn't listening and felt like she was rushing me. She did not review my records and I felt she was not listening to my medical history. I finally ' got her' to order some tests. The results came back with Lupus, RA or possible other auto-immune disorder and I was desperate for a diagnosis on why I was having such mobility issues. I scheduled a follow-up appointment for my tests but when I got there, waited for Over 2 hours â?? so the administrator said she would check to see what was going on. She was gone for about 10 minutes, came back and said she was backed up at least 2 patients and did I want to re-schedule? RESCHEDULE??? The waiting room at that point had been entirely empty for almost an hour, and I had seen two patients leave. My husband and I are going north in… another week and was anxious to simply go over my test results and get the treatment I needed. I did not want any medication, or need an exam. This doctor and this office obviously has NO care, kindness or concern for patients. At this point, I will simply return to my competent, KIND and professional rheumatogist in Boston, who sincerely CARES about her patients and would never treat them the way I was treated at your office. Meanwhile, Iâ??ve discovered dozens of patients on the internet that have similar experiences with your officeâ?¦..long wait and little care, and an â??attitudeâ??. I encourage you to share this correspondence with your staff, read the internet reviews, and re-think the way you treat people.

Dr. Huguenin is kind! She listens. She is very personable. She shows that she cares. She is thorough. Unlike so many other doctors, she focuses on you,not her computer. Obtaining an appointment is definitely easy. I HIGHLY recommend her! She is very knowledgeable and quite skilled. I love her authenticity or genuineness. I will say, again, that she is exceptionally kind!

A truly fantastic Dr. She pays attention, is compassionate, VERY knowledgeable, and is not afraid to consider all options. This is one of the very rare physicians who actually looks at all aspects of the problem and makes no assumptions, but rather takes all the facts into consideration. She admits if she is not sure of something and then finds out. She is very up to date on medical treatments but doesn't just prescribe a pill. She is also knowledgeable about how everything effects the problem at hand, from specific types of exercise, footwear, diet, "alternative" treatments, -- in short anything that might be of help for the specific condition.

My Primary Care Physician tried to make me an appointment to see Dr. Ikeman today, and they were told that I had been "red flagged" as a patient based on a visit that I had with Dr. Huguenin back in 2006. I was completely humiliated and confused, as I honestly did not remember seeing a Dr. Huguenin back then. After leaving my Primary's office embarrassed, I immediately called their main office to find out exactly why I had been red flagged. I was told that I did not complete all of my paperwork on initial visit and did not have my insurance cards with me. I was told very rudely that I wasted 45 minutes of the doctor's time and that time could have been used for another patient. If I wasted 45 minutes of the doctor's time, this would indicate that I was not seen at all, likely due to not having my insurance cards with me??? I was also told that once you are red flagged, you can never be seen by ANY of their doctors again. "ARE YOU KIDDING ME?" In 2006 I worked in Fort Myers with… a company that I had been with for 10 years, worked 14-16 hour days, had two children, and was obviously not feeling well, thus the mystery appointment? It is quite possible that I did miss a few things on the paperwork or forgot my insurance cards, as my life was quite hectic back then, not to mention the fact that "I am human". I am genuinely sorry for any inconvenience that I may have caused anyone including the doctor, as I am the first to be ticked off when someone wastes my time. However, I am also a compassionate person who understands that people are not perfect, including doctors who often also have to make patients wait a lengthy amount of time when they are overbooked or have emergencies with other patients... I even apologized to the office manager for missing things on the paperwork for an appointment that I never remember going to, and offered to pay for the doctor's time I apparently wasted back in 2006, but was told that I still would not be able to see any of the doctors in their practice. I in no way doubt these doctors qualifications as their reviews are stellar. I do however question their paperwork and office policies. It is one thing to have rules and stand by them to enforce order, but "one mistake" and you are blackballed for life??? I am very curious if their "rules and office policies" include disclosing a patient's information over the phone. They never even took steps to verify that I was who I said I was, and had no problems spilling all of my business over the phone? I will have to look into that to be sure they are not breaking any patient's privacy rules... I am seriously left scratching my head over this:0(

Dr Huguenin is a thoroughly professional, dedicated and conscientious MD. She is very intelligent and medically knowledgable, and she also has a genuinely pleasant and warm personality. My experience with her has been entirely positive. She is an excellent doctor, the best MD I have dealt with. I trust and respect her very much, and I would recommend her to anyone.
