Dr. Tavares Kinte Williams, MD

I only gave 1 star because I can’t give 0 stars! Clearly this Urgent Care of Collierville is only capable of doing COVID swabs and Dr. Tavares Williams has terrible bedside manner. I brought my 8 month old daughter here because she has an ear infection. The “physician” Dr. Williams completely disregarded us. He never introduced himself upon entering the room, I had to ask the receptionist as we were leaving. He checked her ears and said they looked good to him, I asked for him to double check because I had checked them myself and saw that she clearly had an ear infection (I’m a RN, so I am well aware of what ear infections look like). After double checking he again insisted she did not have an ear infection. He proceeded to just stand there and stare at my husband and I as if he didn’t know what to do next. My 8 month old was crying and he seemed very annoyed by her being an uncooperative patient. He was being extremely rough with my daughter as she was squirming when he wanted to… check her ears. He did NOT pull her ear down and back to properly examine her ear. The absolute worst part was after examining her and hearing that her only symptoms were her tugging her ear and me clearly seeing she had an ear infection he asked “well what do you want, I can swab her for something.” I genuinely did not need him to swab her for anything because we came for an EAR INFECTION. I am thoroughly disgusted with this clinic and I have no intentions on returning. Please hire physicians that have patience with pediatric patients. Lastly, I saw more excitement and energy from this “physician” when he went outside because he was excited to see the snow. Seriously this is the WORST clinic to bring your child to. I have all intentions of reporting this to the state medical board. Additionally, he never washed nor sanitized his hands before or after his “examination” of my daughters ears.

Aside from the front desk and the medical assistant my experience with Urgent Care for Children in Cordova was terrible! We waited over 3 hours to endure Dr. T. William's lack of bedside manner for all of 3 minutes!! When he finally came into the room, he didn't use hand sanitizer or wash his hands, then proceeded to use his ungloved fingers to examine my son's eye. Less than 3 min in the room & he was gone. That was the extent of the visit with Dr. Williams. I had questions about Rx given & was asked why I needed to know the reasoning behind it. Prior to leaving the office, I asked to speak to the office manager to discuss the issues & was told he would give her my name and number to call me, but when I asked her name, so I could expect her call, he had to ask a medical assistant bc he didn’t know her name! I never received a call, as expected. I will never visit Urgent Care for Children again. I’d rather sit in another waiting room for hours to see someone passionate &… understanding, with a good bedside manner..all qualities of which Dr. Tavares Williams severely lacked.
