Not very knowledgable

Was sent to this doc through urgent care after showing up with a slew of symptoms which have plagued me for years but which had become unbearable. The first available appointment wasn't for over a month...great start! At first this doc seemed pretty nice and eager to help. At first! I left the office with no real help or resolve at all. It felt as though the minute I said the word PAIN, she became really dismissive. I had to return to her a few months later after a car accident. I arrived with a couple of fractured ribs and a broken sternum. As she looked over my paper work from the ER she says to me "well you can't fake THAT!".....ugh. Pretty clear indicator that I hadn't been taken seriously on my first appointment with her as she thought I was faking symptoms. I was amazed at how grudgingly she wrote me a script for (really weak) pain meds given that a fractured sternum is said to be one of the most painful injuries! I have zero history of drug abuse and at no point did I request… any. I understand that this has become a very common thing with (often more so with younger) doctors as they attempt to weed out seekers and people with legitimate pain management needs. I still couldn't believe that I was sent home with anti inflammatory pills and no referrals to specialists etc. I was never fallowed up with and frankly I was so put off that I wouldn't have gone back to see her even if she had. I have since gotten a really great doc who has diagnosed my fibromyalgia and is helping me treat it WITHOUT strong narcotics! I realize that this is a condition not easily diagnosed but so little was done that I doubt she would have caught it even with more visits. Bummer because you DID seem like a nice person when I first met her. Perhaps she's a great doc when actual pain is not involved? Oh well.....

It would be more helpful if she listened more to the patient's fact based information. But she is very nice.
