Dr. Taylor Ray Webb, DO

I have never been treated so poorly by a physician in my life. I live with chronic pain and ongoing medical issues and am actively trying to understand what is happening with my health. My ER visit began after I developed a fever less than 12 hours after what I believed to be a positive pregnancy test. I was also experiencing multiple concerning symptoms, and everything I read advised me to go to the ER immediately. From the moment we arrived, the experience was dismissive and demeaning. The front desk staff was extremely rude and acted as if she did not want to be there or speak to my husband and me. Once taken back, the nurse assigned to me was the only person who showed compassion and genuinely seemed to care about my well-being. When I finally met the doctor, her demeanor was cold, rude, and uncaring. I clearly explained my symptoms and emphasized that I believed I was pregnant. I was sent for blood work and told to wait. The next interaction I had was someone entering the room… and stating, “Get in the wheelchair, you’re getting a CT scan.” I had to ask, “What about the pregnancy test? Am I not pregnant?” The CT technician had to track down the doctor to obtain the negative result and then rushed me to the scan without any reassurance or explanation. After the CT scan, the doctor returned and said, “The scan looks fine. Your liver enzymes are elevated, but on paper there’s nothing wrong with you. What’s wrong?” I once again explained my symptoms. Her response was, “We treat emergencies here, and we’ve ruled out an emergency, so we can’t do anything for you.” My husband and I asked what our next steps should be, explaining that we have seen multiple specialists, even traveled to the Cleveland Clinic, and came to the ER because I cannot eat, sleep, or drink without severe symptoms. Her response was dismissive and cruel. She told me that everyone I’ve seen “isn’t doing a good job,” that “on paper you’re fine, so you should feel fine,” and repeatedly compared my situation to people with cancer, saying I should be grateful. She said these things while I was actively having a mental breakdown — sobbing uncontrollably and shaking. At no point was a psychiatric evaluation offered, despite my visible distress. After repeating these comments multiple times, she abruptly said, “Well, I can’t help you,” stormed out, and discharged me while I was still inconsolable. My husband nearly had to carry me out of the hospital. This experience was dehumanizing and traumatic. I am filing a formal complaint against this physician and will be following up in every way possible. I will never return to this ER and will actively warn others about the treatment I received.
