Dr. Ted Joseph Kulczycki, MD

Dr. K is currently my doctor, and while I think he is competent, I don't believe he has the best bedside manner. Additionally, I get the sense that he cares more about his reputation than about me as a patient. For instance, I mentioned to one of his staff members that I felt he was arrogant and condescending, and that person confirmed that he is indeed arrogant, which I found quite troubling coming from someone who works for him. As another commenter noted, he is more likely to prescribe medication than recommend lifestyle changes. Furthermore, although I have informed him multiple times that I read his notes, he still includes inaccuracies, such as mentioning conversations about achieving a healthy weight, which never took place during my visit. Unless you are someone who is in relatively good shape, I would not recommend this doctor. I also encourage you to read reviews beyond those on the Advocate Health website.

Dr. K. Is an OK doctor. I found that he still is in the 20th century in his approach to care. He still likes prescribing pills rather than getting his patients to institute lifestyle changes. I certainly was unhealthy when I came to him but he offered no recommended lifestyle change just prescriptions. I instituted my own lifestyle changes with fantastic results but he insisted I remain on medicine that was actually causing issues through its side effects. I’m afraid his remaining patients aren’t getting the quality care they should get to improve their health and life span.

Dr. Kulczycki is a very patient man. He listens to what you say and works toward helping you understand what options you have in treatment and advises you on what lifestyle changes might be necessary. He is a firm believer in eating a good diet and exercising. I have been going to him for at least 4 years now and I am extremely confident in his professional health care. Also, his receptionist and nurses are really great.

First of all, Dr ted's reception staff is full of attitude. If you miss your appointment by 5 minutes even if you called ahead that your running late. They will make you wait until all of the patients are seen. They should tell you when you called about being late that you should reschedule not make you wait 90 minutes.
