Dr. Ted Curran Schaffer, MD

Dr. Ted Schaffer is a family medicine physician who also specializes in emergency medicine and geriatric medicine. He earned his medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine and completed his residency at St. Margaret Memorial Hospital. With 47 years of clinical experience, Dr. Schaffer brings extensive knowledge to caring for patients across all age groups. He is fluent in both Spanish and English.

Dr. Schaffer practices at multiple UPMC locations throughout Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, including Presbyterian, Montefiore Hospital, Shadyside, Saint Margaret, and Passavant McCandless, as well as Renaissance Family Practice in Glenshaw. His clinical expertise includes managing high blood pressure and handling hypertensive emergencies. Dr. Schaffer also incorporates physical therapy approaches into patient care, including strength training and manual therapy techniques.
