Dr. Ted Gerard Van Acker, DO

I love Rachael but getting someone on the other end of the phone is a terrible experience. You have to go through 1 phone number for anything you need. I tried for 30 minutes today just to make sure my perscription got called in. Put on Hold 2 times only to get cut off after about 10 minutes.

I had a disease that had confounded other doctors. Dr. Van Acker's PA was outstanding as I waited to see Van Acker (the wait for an appointment was a month but then I saw him every 2 weeks thereafter). If you ask him to do something - in my case, it was a biopsy - he will. If you want aggressive treatment of a debilitating condition, he will work with you (won't fight you). In the end, the biopsy results indicated I need to go to SLU and he sent a referral and then I see him for follow up care. I highly recommend him.

I have never seen Dr. Van Acker personally but I saw his PA in the Murphysboro office. I would not send anyone to this woman. She did a shave biopsy on my forearm. She didn't shave. She took a razor blade and cut a hole into my arm. The area is healed now but I still have a deep ugly divot scar that will be there for the rest of my life.

I could not be more delighted to be in Dr. Van Acker's care! He was confident, knowledgeable, strategic, and understanding!

Dr Van Acker is the best doctor I have ever had the pleasure of seeing. He is an amazing dermatologist! Absolutely brilliant! And Good looking too!
