Dr. Edward C Wagner

I first became interested in dentistry when I was just eight. I had a paper route and had unlimited access to candy due to my income ($30 per month went a long way for an eight-year-old in 1979!). A combination of cavities, sugar, and an apparent unwillingness to “wiggle” my tooth led to the need for an extraction. My neighbor and dentist pulled the tooth for me. I could actually hear the tooth coming out of my mouth, but I couldn’t feel anything! I thought that was pretty cool, and thus began my adventure into dentistry. What began as a simple curiosity into my own tooth restoration and pulling blossomed into a career dedicated to helping patients with their own dental needs. After beginning my education at BYU and the University of Louisville School of Dentistry, I brought my training to Boise’s Modern Dental. Since then, I’ve made it my life’s work to help patients with dental pain or dental health problems…and it’s a choice I’d make again, hands down. As research and technology in …dentistry have improved through the years, I’ve continued my education to stay abreast of all new developments. Advanced training in cosmetic dentistry, dental implants, and a few other specialized areas has given our dental practice the tools we need to help provide better care for our patients, resulting in healthy smiles they are proud to share with everyone. As a dentist, my goal is to help all of my patients achieve a higher quality of life. Learning how to treat related areas such as TMD or providing care for patients with sleep apnea has improved the scope of care at Modern Dental, and has provided us the opportunity to form long-lasting relationships with patients.
