Dr. Tegan Marie Palma, MD

I had a colonoscopy with Dr. Palma as my anesthetist. She visited my bedside ahead of the procedure & I let her know that I wanted to be asleep for the procedure. She acknowledged that she would take care of me. Instead of giving me the anesthetic that would put me to sleep, she gave me a mild sedative that left me wide awake but unable to move or talk. I was only able to grasp the bed rail with my right hand and keep squeezing it hoping for Dr. Palma to see how stressed I was. I was wide awake and had to watch on the screen the whole procedure for the 30-40 minutes it took including cutting out a polyp and the bleeding inside me. I was so stressed as the colonoscopy went on that I will never have any similar test done. I only read about what she gave me in the after visit papers I was given.
