Things couldn't have gone worse! I had a raised pink bump removed off my knee that I've hated for 10 years. Mistake #1: Dr. Soares dug it out with a circle punch and then stitched it up. After the fact, I got a second opinion about the whole process from an orthopedic surgeon friend who said the circle punch is completely outdated! The process now is to use an elliptical shape so that it stitches up in a line better. I had a puckering on each end of the stitches that looked horrible. Mistake #2: I was not given enough information about care of the stitches. Having never had stitches or any of my children, I didn't realize that taking two weeks off of exercise is standard. I continued my running and the stitches felt fine. Sweat caused an infection though. Mistake #3: When I sent in a picture of the infected area around the stitches, Dr. Soares said it was not infected. I have had a handful of staph infections plus consulted the internet and some nurse friends. Everything led me to… believe it was infected--swollen, red, warm to the touch, increased pain. Dr. Soares said it was not infected because I didn't have a fever and there was no drainage/puss. Guess what happened the next morning? Drainage. Mistake #4: My orthopedic surgeon friend said he would have prescribed a different antibiotic which would have worked more efficiently. Mistake #5: Dr. Soares removed the stitches when the infection was still present. Guess what happened? The wound opened up and healed that way. It looks awful. Also, when I asked Dr. Soares about what caused the infection, he said it wasn't the exercise but most likely a reaction to the stitches. Any other person I talked to with a medical background said it was definitely the sweat from exercising, which I was never told NOT to do. When I asked if it was okay to exercise then now that the stitches were removed, he recommended not to for another week to allow it to completely heal. Where was that instruction the first go round?!?!? 6 weeks later, I would have never guessed that it was possible for the scar to look WORSE than the red bump I had before the process. What a waste of money!! My orthopedic surgeon friend said I should have done some research to look into Dr. Termitope Soares' education and that would have steered me away. I also learned that he messed up the bottom of an acquaintance's foot when he removed a wart. Don't trust this dermatology practice!!!!

Let me set your mind at ease! Doctor Soares and all of his staff are wonderful!!! My husband and I both are cared for by him. Their office is like visiting friends that are going to take care of your skin problems. They are wonderful, they are very knowledgeable, explain everything and we feel very comfortable. They are the best!!!

Dr. Soares found and removed cancer growth on the top of my head. He removed growth in his office. Margins of skin removed were found to be clean. Incision is healing nicely.
