Tenisha Simon, PMHNP-BC, was born and raised in Bronx, NY. She is a first-generation American and a proud Antiguan. Mental health management is often overlooked in the Caribbean and African American cultures. Tenisha's goals are to make quality mental health care accessible, decrease the stigma associated with mental health, and help clients to realize their potential for health and well-being.Tenisha Simon has over a decade of experience as a mental health provider starting as an RN in Jamaica hospital (NY) in the psychiatric emergency room. She developed an interest in providing mental health care after seeing the same clients returning to the hospital. Many of these clients lacked support, structure, and routine in their lives. With her clients, she likes to impact overall wellness by creating positive habits around nutrition, sleep, career, and relationships. She is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner and spent the last 4 years as a PMHNP supervisor for …a growing outpatient practice. She enjoys working with clients to create their ideal treatment plans in order to achieve their health and wellness goals.
