Dr. Terence Shaun Edgar, MD

Dismissive attitude toward parents' concerns. Doesn't familiarize himself with the patient's history. Becomes surly and impatient when you ask questions that challenge his authority, and likes to keep contact to a minimum to avoid those questions. Arrogant and condescending.

The best doctor we have ever met. I-N-C-R-E-D-I-B-L-E with children! Provides a friendly and comfortable experience topped off with lots of laughs. A gifted person to be able to connect with children so easily. Awesome with parents/adults too. His patience and kindness blew me away. So thankful God plans it all. I feel we are in great hands.

Dr. Edgar was very friendly and easy to talk to. He was also great with my daughter during her exam. He took his time explaining the diagnosis and letting us ask questions. I would definitely recommend him to others.

Dr Edgar's staff were great and courteous! Dr Edgar was also geat, he took time to explain what was going on with my son, we didn't feel rushed, he even made my son feel comfortable. He went out of his way to even draw a picture to help us understand and made it easy when i left there to be able to go home and expain it all to my husband.

Greatest and very compassionate Doctor I have ever seen.

After waiting about 5 weeks to get in to see Dr. Edgar, he spent a completely insufficient amount of time with us teaching us about our daughter's new epilepsy diagnosis. He interrupted nearly every time we spoke to ask a question or express a concern. He pushed medication right away without even discussing the options or potential side effects. We left feeling more concerned and uncertain than before. Whenever we called to leave a message with Dr. Edgar about a concern or question we had, his nurse would always return the call and read from his reports/notes...then she couldn't answer any follow up questions we had. Our pediatrician calls us personally whenever there is something serious to discuss. I thought a specialist would do the same, but not him. Very disappointed by the care we have received. We will not be going back.

Dr. Edgar was great with my 5 year old daughter, but when it came to us asking questions he was condescending. Dr. Edgar told us our daughter had a form of MD and ordered an EMG that took all of 15 min. He came to us and stated it wasn't a form of MD that it was another condition. When we asked questions he wouldn't answer them. He has to be the one talking and you have to understand what he is telling you because he will get mad if you ask him to explain. We went for a second opinion and he was mad and told us, " ask anyone I am the best". To me the best Dr. would never say that, and the best doctor is honest, respectful,and caring. These are our children and someone has to advocate for them. Now he states our daughter doesn't have this disorder, she doesn't need the meds, or other things HE ordered. He will turn his mistakes all around on you. He never admits that he doesn't know whats going or offer encouragement that he will try his hardest to figure it out. All he cares… about his MD pts, and that's awesome, but not all children have that condition and need help as well. We have been seen by a team of specialist at different location who were straight forward, explained what they thought, and are doing more testing to try to give us a proper diagnoses. The Neuromuscular Dr there stated that with any muscular condition you have a 50/50 chance of being correct. So Dr Edgar may believe he is God, but he is not! I honestly am upset, but I pray that God softens his heart.

My 3 year old son who developed Meningoencephalitis which attacked his body to the point where he was unable to move any muscle in his body and had to be put on a ventilator to breath. After one treatment of IVIG my son started being able to move some of his muscles again. So Dr Edgar came preformed an Electromyogram (EMG) and Nerve Conduction Study. During the test my son was luckily sedated. As Dr Edgar preformed the test where he sticks a big needle that has electrodes on it in my son's left arm and other places he would say out loud "No Hope." He repeated it a few times for different areas. My son had this test done twice and both times Dr Edgar just talks non stop to his resident and said "No Hope." My son's Occupational Therapist asked for a prescription for a device to simulate his nerves so they wouldn't die. Dr Edgar gave her the prescription but said it was a waste of her time. I would like everyone to know that the TENS unit worked and he is now able to walk again and is… still gaining strength in his left arm. Dr Edgar also prescribed anti-seizure medication for my son after it was discovered that he was having seizures. Dr Edgar prescribed Kepra for my son and when I called and said that my son's personality was totally altered the response was just to change his medication. I asked shouldn't we make a appointment and talk about it. The response was no. Dr Edgar is a good Doctor as long as you fit in the area of neuro science he enjoys most. Unfortunately my son did not fall in that area. We now go to the American Family Children Specialty Clinic in Madison and we have the best pediatric neurologist Dr Zawadzki who has helped my son get connected to the right specialty doctors. My son started seeing this neurologist in a wheelchair on a ventilator and is vent free and now can walk to his appointments.

Dr.Edgar was referred to us for our 6yr old son. He was very easy to talk with and truly understood our concerns. Our son liked Dr. Edgar and wasn't scared to see him for a second appointment even though he knew he was going to have a few shots. After his second appointment the staff helped us make another appointment and followed up with our son's PT provider. I would recommend this doctor and his support staff.

I feel like I won the lottery to have been lucky enough to have such a fantastic, extremely caring, compassionate, overall wonderful doctor. When my son turned ill we were scared & left in the dark by so many doctors and hospitals. Until finally we met Dr. Edgar, he was so understanding & so willing to educate us & help us in fighting this ugly disease. I truly feel he is the best doctor in the whole world and the best doctor me and my son could ever ask for. Thank you for all you've done and continue to do for us.
