Best doctor, a doctor who really cares about me!

I loved the care Dr Avants provided me with during my pregnancy. She is awesome and easy to talk to. I truly appreciate how she took the time to answer ALL my questions.... And I had a lot.

I was fortunate to have Dr. Avant's as my doctor with my three pregnancies, miscarriage and a few surgeries. She is one of the best doctor's I've ever had. She is compationate caring and really down to earth. I would definitely recommend her if you are looking for an extraordinary doctor.

Horrible time management. Staff didn't even check with patients waiting in the room.

After waiting more than two months to get an appointment for post-menopausal symtpoms, I was greeted by a rude receptionist who gave me forms regarding my PREGNANCY. None of the questions were appropriate for post-menopausal symptoms. I completed the questionnaire anyawy, basically leaving most of it blank,a s it did not aply to me, and then wrote in my actual complaints. I was then told to undress and wait in an exam room. When the doctor finally came in to examine me about 30 minutes later, she asked me a couple of questions and did not examine me, saying, "I'm just an obstetrician, you need a gynecology specialist."

Well I do not know if this woman is a good doctor. I called and made an appointment that was 2 weeks out. Great! Perfect! Until the calls started and the office continued to change my appointment for a month out. I had gotten very sick and wanted to come see the doctor. It took them a whole day to return my phone call. At this point I was already at the Urgent care. The only advice they offered at this point was go to the hospital. When I received a call today saying they would be changing my appointment yet again I gave up.

I would recommend Dr. Avants to family/friends without hesitation. No question Dr. Avants is an excellent doctor, experienced, gentle and professional, she is also very caring and treats her patients like her family. Also, Dr. Avants personally takes her calls after hours. During my pregnancy, I had issues/problems where we called her during night time/early morning, after my delivery I still had some health issues where we again called her at 2AM, she always answered her phone or called back very quickly, and took excellent care of me, even though her schedule was always packed. Even after my 6-week postpartum, I have some health issues that Dr. Avants is still taking are of.Her office wait time is often times not bad, within 30 minutes or so. Only a few times, it was 2 hours wait, but it was because Dr. Avants had to go deliver babies, so her schedule is sometimes unpredictable. But it was all worth the wait. I trust Dr. Avants completely, and now would definitely go to her if… we ever have another baby, would only go to her for pap smear/mammogram, and would also ask for her judgment on other health issues. The Best Doctor!!

The only downfall is the waiting to get into your appointment....HOWEVER, once you are in and Dr. Avants is with you there is no one else is the world. She has the best bedside manners and will take all the time that you need to answer any and all questions. That's why you wait to get in. She knows her patients and takes care of them like family. I delivered my son 7 weeks premature and in my most stressful time she knew just what to do and took care of both of us.Worth the wait.

i have been a patient of hers for about 5 years. i wish i would have found her sooner! not only is she good at what she does, but she is very caring and understanding. love her! the only drawback is the wait. have waited for up to 2 hours but that was due to emergency c section she had to perform. but the usual time to get in back is 30 minutes, then about another 15 to 20 to see her.

Dr.avants is such a great doctor. I decided to make an appointment with her because she had very good ratings. I didn't really believe she was that great ...it was too good to ne true I tought. I was wrong. Waiting time is about 10 minutes the longest I have waited has been 20 minutes. Where I used to go I would wait 2 hrs sometimes. And when I'm in the room I wait 5 minutes for her or less. Her staff is wonderful too. She is so patient and will explain the procedure until I understand her.
