Dr. Teresa Maria Gagliano-Decesare, MD

This doctor neglected my care. I hired Dr Teresa Gagliano-Decesare based on her 5 stars reviews. I cannot explain the 5 stars, but I can explain my bad experience under her care. I think it’s about time for her to be exposed. Shortly after my first two visits. I developed an excruciating pain like I had never had before. That came along with some mobility issues and the need to walk with a cane. Worst time of my life. During the next three months, I didn’t see Dr. Decesare. She assigned me to her assistant and I don’t know if she ever knew about the miserable time that I was going through. Not even a phone call or a FaceTime appointment. I wrote her a letter explaining in detail all the things that were going wrong, to learn later that she never read the letter. And they charge my insurance company $500 for a 10 minute visit, not with my oncologist, but with her assistant? Something seems so wrong here! Due to my cancer medication, my dental office needed an approval from her for… a certain treatment.Twice she was faxed the request. She never responded. I then PERSONALLY handed over to her the request and she said that she would get back to them, but she never did. Something’s wrong with this doctor. Dr. Decesare was totally uninvolved with my treatment. How can a doctor like her be working at Lynn Cancer Institute? It’s beyond me. And the administrative staff is all for the doctors. No one ever approached me for anything. It’s easier for them to be friends with the doctors than to advocate for one of their cancer patients living the misery of cancer on top of the frustration of being treated by a bad doctor. There’s no difamación on this review. My comments are substantiated by evidence and I also I have their names. For obvious reasons, I’m no longer her patient.

This is the doctor you want when you have breast cancer. As a male I am one of the few unlucky get to get the disease. Dr Decesare has treated me for 7 years. She is the best of the best.

I have battled Stage IV metastatic breast cancer for 14 years, of which 5 have been under the care of Dr DeCesare. She is knowledgeable, caring, informed of the latest treatments available, stays ahead of the illness by spelling out clear strategies with scenario planning, she is pragmatic while infusing renewed hope fighting the enemy side-by-side with the patient. She is also open-minded knowing when to seek further support or second-opinions from other institutions when needed, demonstrating her priority is the patient's well being.

At first impression she seemed knowledgeable and competent. Unfortunately, she is not. I had the misfortune of having her as my oncologist for 2 years and she did not return phone calls nor did she follow up with a scan that she ordered. I ended up getting a copy of my radiology report by myself and had to find a surgeon by myself without the help from Dr. Decesare. I can not believe that a doctor that is in the field of oncology does not follow through with her patients nor return phone call
