Dr. Terrence A Barrett, MD

Dr Barrett has been my physician since his arrival at U.K. from Northwestern. He is not only brilliant, but extremely personable and comes through the door with a smile on his face and a story or incident about subjects that we have in common. He is my third gastroenterologist at U.K. since I have been a patient there, and the blessing continues with extraordinary care and interest from my physician.

Great professional, very compassionate. He takes the time to listen to his patients, and clarify questions. Great beside manners. Strongly recommend this physician.

Dr. Barrett has a great personality, but beyond that there aren't many redeeming qualities. He doesnt communicate with my other doctors (even though they make themselves readily available when I have a medical issue Im not the type to go to the doctor unless Im close to death). I've routinely waited up to an hour in his waiting room, his nurse Lita does not communicate well and refuses to provide a copy of my lab results. I will wait a week and then I have to call numerous times just to get the lab results verbally. Per his nurse, if I want the lab results, I need to submit something in writing to obtain a copy - she states this is Northwestern's policy - which can't be true, as the rest of my doctors are at Northwestern and they all will fax over or mail my lab results.

Dr. Barrett has a great attitude towards my 19 year old, he is very professional but also very witty.HE has given us options for Crohn's disease that no one has ever offered, it has been a relief to find a Dr. that wants to get off some medications and not continue to destroy my son's body.we dont mind driving the 6 hours round trip 4 if traffic is not bad.
