Dr. Terry Mccurry Jr., MD

Dr. Terry McCurry spent minimal time during my consultation for a breast reduction. He barely discussed the challenges I was having and I never heard from him again. His staff was difficult to reach and when you were able to get in contact with someone you were referred to Margaret Johnson who’s role is to seek insurance approval. She was rude and even went to the level of stating that “she’s never had these approved through insurance but if I’d like to waste my time trying go right ahead”. She quickly followed up with a written out of pocket quote. I have never experienced such poor care from UofL Health and that is disappointing as I am an employee of that organization.

First surgery was botched. Insurance did not pay for second surgery to try repair botch. Breasts were saggy after second surgery. Need third surgery to make it right. Owe hospital enough to buy a truck.

First things first I’m a transman. Transitioned from female to male. Now that we got that out the way... When I moved back to Louisville I was already stressed about finding surgeon to do my top surgery. It was important to me to find someone who could perform my top surgery to make me look and feel how I have always felt on the inside. While searching for a surgeon I kept coming across postings and reviews of people stating there aren’t any good surgeons in Louisville who are good at doing surgeries for transgender people. At this point in time I am not sure who they are going to because Dr. McCurry in my eyes is the best! When I first met him he already had a plan on how he wanted to do the surgery. His confidence upon seeing me put me at ease. He is very personable and he smell good too lol. His cologne game is on point. His assistant was quick to respond and helpful the entire process. Even the day of surgery when I woke up ... one of the first things my mama said to… me was she spoke with Dr. McCurry. I’m not sure what all he said to her but she said after speaking with him she has a better understanding of what I went through to get to where I am today. So for that I thank him. I also thank him for being a vital part of my journey. I know this is what he does for a living but I really want him to know that he has helped change my life. I can look in the mirror and finally see me. I’ve waited my whole life to see the real me and he helped make it possible. Thank you for being a blessing Dr. McCurry!

Dr. McCurry performed breast surgery on me. He took before surgery breast photos of me, as most if not all, plastic surgeons do. Then they take after surgery photos to provide to future clients as evidence of their excellent work. After my horrible breast surgery results, imagine, that for some reason, Dr. McCurry did not take the after surgery photos. I suggest you research another plastic surgeon and pay more somewhere else if you desire more natural looking breasts.

Dr. McCurry was recommended to me as a plastic surgeon by a leading surgeon in Louisville. I was surprised by how empathetic and attentive to detail he was in the initial examination. Post cancer is a painful time and he was very aware of how best to treat the issues that arose. Moreover, he was personable and sincere. Excellent results and demeanor!

Dr. McCurry was very empathetic, very knowledgeable, exceptionally professional and a great listener. He took the time to hear what I wanted and to tell me precisely what he could do after my mastectomy. I was very worried, but he made me feel all would be done to make it go smoothly for the reconstruction. He is the best plastic surgeon I have ever met and would recommend him highly.

Dr. McCurry is an expert in his field. He performed a complicated breast reconstruction on me with excellent results. I saw several different surgeons in the city, and selected Dr.McCurry due to his knowledge, experience, confidence, and attention to his patients.

I would like to tell anyone who is looking for a Compassionate and caring Doctor they should make a appointment to see Dr. McCurry I am so excited and so happy that I chose him to do my surgery hopefully I will be having my surgery next month I have never been to a plastic surgeon before and I was nervous but he made me feel so comfortable and actually took time to answer all my questions and concerns as well as my husbands after we were finished my husband wanted to ask him one more question and he came back in answered his question and he had a office full of patients..Not only is he a great doctor but his office staff is really amazing as well they are so friendly and go out of their way to help you I can not say Thank You enough to Missy (Melissa K McIntosh) for everything she did today and Thank you to Janie and Mrs.Laws for helping as well.I am sorry I don't know all the names of his staff but Thank you all.You are all so kind and caring and compassionate it means so much to… me.I am so excited about my up coming surgery..
