Dr. Terry Meriden, MD

I have not seen Dr. Meridan in years. I just found this site to discuss and review Dr's, so I thought I would post my opinions about him. He makes my list of top 5 worst doctors I've ever seen. He is # 2 worst I've seen. I went to him for weight loss. He sold me so many supplements from his office it was overwhelming. Had me come into his office for blood tests every 2 weeks and so many other tests and exams at other facilities it was just crazy. I was not diabetic, had no endocrine issues at all. But every 2 weeks I was in his office to see him again for a blood test and check up. Oh and to buy more supplements. Did I lose weight? Yes I did. But as soon as I got behind on a payment ($75) they were awful! I owed the office $75 and came into my appointment and was asked to pay, which of course I did. I wouldn't have come in if I wasn't going to pay. They took my payment and then told me my appointment was cancelled because I was behind on a payment. And I had decent… insurance and had already hit my deductible, but was behind on payment for some supplements that they had sold me from my previous visits. Oh and they let me sit in the office for over 45 mins to see him before they called me up and asked me for payment. I was very upset by this entire experience with Dr. Meriden and his staff. But hey he got his, paid for unnecessary tests, by insurance companies. I have nothing nice to say about this man.

When I first started going to Dr. Meriden I thought he was so serious but I now understand him to be serious about my health. He truly cares for each one of his patients and wants the best for them. He is going to lead and guide you but he knows that ultimately it is your decision on whether you are going to make the changes that will benefit you. He has a big heart for each of his patients and as you get to know him you start to see that.

Dr. Meriden has done an outstanding job keeping my Diabetes in line. He is not only an excellent doctor but I consider him a friend also.

Dr Meriden and his staff are very knowledgeable. He wants to see his patients succeed in meeting all of their goals. Wait times can be somewhat long and some practices are out dated but effective.

Good afternoon. I have been coming to Dr. Meriden since 2006. Dr. Meriden has always been helpful, informative, thorough making me feel like I am the only patient. He is very sincere and attentive to my needs as a patient. My health has improved over the years because of his professionalism, knowledge, direct to the point and care to me. I have had a few occasions to have to call him when the office was closed. He was quick to respond and he had his staff person contact me once during non office hours because of a medical need for me that required me to be hospitalized. Thank you Dr. Meriden. On another note I travel all the was from Danville, IL to Peoria, IL every three months to see Dr. Meriden and hope to continue for years to come because of his knowledge and expertise needed for my medial condition.

I have been seeing Dr Merriden for about six years. During that time I have found him to be a genuinely kind person who really listens to what his patients say. I feel like he sincerely cares about his patients well being. My health has improved under his care and the quality of my life is better thanks to Dr Merriden. His staff is a great combination of friendliness and efficiency. Every office visit has been a pleasant experience. I highly recommend Dr Merriden.

Under Dr Meriden I have lost 50 lbs

I was referred to Dr. Meriden for irregular heartbeat originally caused by hyper thyroid toxicosis. Now hypo thyroid, Adjusting medication quickly got that situation under control, I also suffered from type II diabetes and soon made to understand by Dr. Meriden that I needed make drastic lifestyle changes, loose weight, lower my A1C, and improve my overall health. Dr. Meriden has held me accountable and has helped me loose 50 lbs. toward my goal and has changed my life for the better making all my vitals within the range of a normal healthy person.

I have been a patient of Dr. Meriden's for 7 years after my mom (his very first patient!) noticed I had hypothyroid symptoms. He is an excellent doctor that takes time with his patients. He is a master at maintaining good health through diet and exercise. He will study your situation and plan a course of action. My thyroid, cholesterol and diabetic symptoms are maintained because of his great care.
