Dr. Terryl Jean Ortego

He performed A colonoscopy & took some biopsies. It all came back negative but he knew something was not right. He did not want to take the time to figure out what was wrong. Turns out there was a big cancerous tumor growing inside me. He dropped the ball on this & never apologized. After going through chemo/radiation I went back to him due to not being able to eat. He said I was anorexic! I was actually having bowel obstructions. He missed this too! Would never recommend this Dr to anyone.

Dr. O and nurse S have delivered first rate primary health care for over 2decades, and I have a science background to compare him with. Age 83.

Idiot, absolute very nice idiot

Don't waste your health. The worst bedside manner, and he misses vital information. It took my other doctors to find pertinent lab results. The lack of empathy and understanding makes you feel awful about yourself, like you don't have a deadly disease, you need to quit complaining and suffer. Truly the worst doctor I've ever been cared for.

I've been seeing him for four years now, I was a chronic suffer and he did not care, I felt like a number and he immediately wanted me to start the harsh drugs, he doesn't listen to the side effects or cares as long as he's getting paid that's all that matters. There are many GI doctors out there, don't make the decision to suffer under his care.

I have seen Dr. Ortego twice in the last seven months for GI procedures and I have had excellent care. Both times he stopped in to visit with me before the procedure to get my exact complaints and offer what procedure he would be doing and what the possible problems could be. Both times he has also stopped in afterwards with the follow-up of my procedure and what he saw. Both times I got a hand-out with the exact procedure done, biopsies taken, and expected date of the results along with recommendations for treatment. I would recommend him and his staff. My calls into his office have been answered promptly. This last call he was out of town but the staff conferred with him and I was called back, not once but twice, to follow up.

The office itself was fine.. The doctor on the other hand.. Well, terrible uncaring bedside manner. He seems like he's Definately in it for the profits of expensive treatments. No compassion for me at all when i was suffering.I can't believe I kept going back here for as long as I did. Awful, AWFUL!!

In it for the money, not the care of patients! After the 1st visit and the lock in of the $3,000 a month treatment both he and his staff treats you like a drug seeking criminal. ZERO follow up or responsibility for your care. Essentially puts you on Chemotherapy like drugs and never wants to hear from you again. Except of course for your payments. Ended up in ICU after is lack of care and not even a call to check in let alone a visit in the hospital. Do NOT put your life or your loved ones in this man's hands!

He only saw me for a few minutes and had no follow up. Had to call 4 times and then drive to his office to get the results of my test. Didn't give me a printed copy of the test results for my records when I asked for them. No follow up on my condition. Staff was rude on the phone.

After the initial visit and starting my husband in Pegasus for HCV he did not see him but 1 time after multiple requests for an appointment. $2,800 per month for the medicine and his staff couldn't take the time to listen to the side affects that
