Dr. Thais Botelho De Moldovan, MD

I have an unknown autoimmune condition attacking my eyes. My physician referred me to Dr. Moldovan to determine if I have lupus/get me on a long-term immunosuppressant to prevent further damage to my eyes. I saw Dr. Moldovan twice, paid $130 each time. For the first visit she did lab work to narrow down what disease process I have. That's fine, I want to know what I have. She also highlighted a bunch of specialists on a piece of paper for me to follow up with. The second visit only lasted 10 minutes. She showed me my results, told me I did not have lupus but probably Hashimoto's disease (still autoimmune but attacks the thyroid gland), told me she will not be seeing me anymore, and highlighted more specialist referrals on the same sheet of paper she gave me last time. It took over a month to see her and I have no access to the immunosuppressant drugs I needed to protect my eyes. Don't waste your time going here.

Dr. Moldovan is very knowledgeable and thorough. She use state of the art technology and cutting edge tests to make sure you are correctly diagnosed. I was misdiagnosed for 10 years by a Philly Top Doc. I was in search of a new rheumatologist, and through a google search, I found Dr. Moldovan. She did a battery of tests and a full workup and gave me the proper diagnosis. Instead of just prescribing pills to help me live a normal life, she referred me to a few holistic programs (wellness, therapy, and etc.) in my area. Dr. Moldovan bedside manner is wonderful as she is conscientious, kind, caring and understanding. Her staff is just as awesome as she is.

I have been suffering from my symptoms for 15+ years, since I was a young child. I have seen numerous doctors in different specialties and nobody could diagnose me. I have seen at least three different Rheumatologists who could not explain what was going on and essentially dismissed me. Dr. Moldovan ordered numerous blood tests at my initial appointment and had me schedule a follow up appointment in three weeks, where she successfully diagnosed me. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing, that she not only found the problem but diagnosed me within two appointments and put me on medication that should improve the symptoms I have been suffering from since I was a 10 year old child. I cannot say enough good things about her. If you are considering making the switch, do it and do not think twice about it!

I was prescribed Cymbalta for fibromyalgia. The dose was increased. When I told Dr. Moldovan I was experiencing side effects, she said she never heard of anyone having side effects. This sent up an immediate red flag and I never returned. I believe her schooling leaves a lot to be desired.
