Awful experience giving me a generic copy past reply. Refuses to provide me documentation of my health issues — which should be illegal. Worst physician I’ve ever had

I was assigned to Dr. Lwin's practice a few years ago. I've seen her for various injuries and routine things like labs, etc. She's always listened and been thoughtful during our visits. I appreciate that, despite me being overweight, her first comment isn't always to lose weight as if that will magically solve my issue. (like migraines). I've had so many doctors who get stuck on that and fail to see me as a person and not the number on the scale. I also appreciate that when I need a prescription refilled (like for the migraines) she's super fast to take care of it for me. I like Dr. Lwin and would recommend her to others.

If I could give her negative stars I would. I went into urgent care today after having weeks of awful pain from an ovarian cyst that I have. My OB told me to go in if it is excruciating but she unfortunately wasn’t there today as it was the weekend so I went into urgent care hoping for help and Dr. Lwin said she’d see me. She spent the entire time talking over me, rushing through every question so quickly that I couldn’t even get my answers out. At no point did she perform any kind of ultrasound, so she had no way of actually seeing the status of my cyst or ovaries. She only performed an exam by using her hands to feel inside me and push on where it hurt. She essentially said that when I explained the pain that it didn’t hurt bad enough and if it was a problem “I’d be kicking her in pain,” which is not at all how I show pain and to me it did feel that bad, I just have an extreme pain tolerance due to a chronic illness. She then insisted that I must just be constipated and gave me… things to help with that. I fought her on it and to have more done but she dismissed it and said this is the issue and once it’s resolved I’ll be better. This hasn’t been the case and I’ve ended up back in the ER this time. Her language was also very traumatizing, telling me I should continue having sex with the cyst despite the pain and the risk of it rupturing and that “sometimes it’s just painful.” WHAT?? Who says that to a patient?? It was awful to hear especially when it had nothing to do with my questions for it. I have had some bad doctors before, but none like this. I broke down crying in the appointment and truly hope no one else sees her ever again.

I wrote down a list of my symptoms to share with Dr. Lwin. I wanted a referral to an endocrinologist. She absolutely refused. The resident she was training was more professional than she was. Here is her three-part diagnosis of my symptoms. 1. I have sleep apnea. I listed insomnia as the first item on my list of symptoms. This seems fair. However, it looks like she read the first item and then decided she didn't need to read the rest. 2. I can see a psychotherapist. This makes no sense. I did not list any mental or emotional symptoms. No anxiety. No depression. Everything on the list was a physical symptom. 3. I can just get used to my symptoms because everyone has them. When I had my OBGYN appointment with her, she performed the Pap Smear but asked no questions about my reproductive well-being. I had very heavy bleeding at the time. The CDC says to see a doctor if heavy menstrual bleeding occurs. Here is how the CDC defines heavy bleeding: "If you need to change your… tampon or pad after less than 2 hours or you pass clots the size of a quarter or larger, that is heavy bleeding." Both of those things were true for me. If the CDC says to see a doctor, this is not something everyone experiences. After that appointment, I switched to a different primary care physician. My new primary care physician took one look at my blood test results and referred me to the endocrinologist. She also put me on some supplements because some of my test results were way below range. I no longer experience heavy bleeding.

Dr. Lwin interrupts you mid-sentence to butt in her points. She tried to persuade me to seek alternative options even though I was not comfortable with her persistent demands. She is a bad doctor, please do NOT have her as your physician.

Doesn’t pay attention to details about patients. Plays the guilt trip if you don’t follow her request.
