After several different experiences supporting family through death from cancer I was always surprised as the physician they saw was always so direct about saying there is nothing more we can do. Now supporting our Dad through an inevitable death from cancer this doctor has continued to fail to recognize his continued mental decline and will absolutely not be straight with him. He has over done the chemo to the point of severe dementia however refused to diagnose it, so we have had to go to other doctors and he still refuses to recognize the diagnosis, I think because he didn't give it. Dad hasn't gotten out of bed in days and really needs some sort of care but since he refuses to say dad needs hospice we are unable to get that care. When I called him out on continuing to poison dad with overdoing the chemo he literally kicked my shin because he didnt think my dad could here that. The truth is my dad doesn't want to die. He is terrified of death. We really needed a doctor who… could help him understand and work through that process. This is CLEARLY NOT that doctor. I get the patient wanting to live but dear lord this is not living this doctor is not balancing the need for quality of life.

I had breast cancer surgery and I saw him for a follow up. I had major concerns about a medication I had been taking. He listened to me and we had a long discussion about side effects. I found him to be a kind and caring physician.

This doctor took over after my oncologist retired. He did not agree with the diagnosis and refused to continue treatment. this caused me to go to the ER and now he is treating me but is not nice about it and still refused to admit the previous doctor was right. Too stubborn to admit he was wrong.

He took a long time with me going over my worries regarding medication after breat cancer surgery. He gave me his opinion and study data on how this medication would decreace chances of reoccurrence. We talked until I felt ok with my decisions.

Some doctors and administration at BMC leave much to be desired. Dr B is a good man and great doctor. It's not an easy job in his area of expertise. He's not one to waste words, or give answers when he is unsure. He'll give it straight up when required. I have had 6 or 7 cancer doctors over years and he is top of his class. I'm thankful.
