Dr. Theodore Dake Jr, MD

Dr. Dake prescribed me opinion nd the me 5 refills. This we after he learned of my substance abuse issues. (I went to see him for help getting off suboxone). He lied and said that klonopin is "not very addictive" or anything to worry about. Now, it is 8 months later and instead of one addiction (suboxone), I am dealing with two. Klonopin is strongly advised against use for more than a few weeks because it is highly addictive and withdrawal is terrible. Dr. Dake is the legal drug dealer in San Marcos so go to him if you want pills.

Dr. Dake is exceeding all expectations.

Had to see a psychiatrist as part of a deal to have a false charge dismissed by the courts. I was 20 at the time, Dake was the only psych in network. My sister is bipolar, so that was my diagnosis with very little evaluation. Fast forward 6 years and I'll be starting in the medical profession. Having worked and consulted with neuropsychiatric pharmacists and psychiatrists, this guy's prescribing was out of line. Not only was it over the top, but when I complained of adverse physical and mental effects of the drugs, I was largely dismissed. I spent 2 years with a severely blunted affect and mental distress, as well as persistent tremors which only resolved months after leaving this practice. He may have been a great physician in the Thorazine hay day. Tread with caution people.

Office receptionist answers phone in strange way and is slightly off key. Psychiatrist will spend some time with you, but will not listen to your concerns fully and will push it off as to not being medication related but instead being behavioral related. You cannot question the drugs you are prescribed by the doctor because he feels like you are questioning his expertise in the field of psychiatry. Very nice and caring person, but does not solve or answer all of your problems and/or concerns. The therapy dogs didn't seem to really be "therapy" dogs as they just kind of do their own thing. I disagree with the way he practices his profession.

I started going to Dr. Dake a month ago. He is one of the most friendly, strait forward Dr. I have ever been to. He takes him time with his patients and he is 100% true to himself. If you don't like to be told what is going on or don't want to hear what you need to do then don't go here. I on the other hand love to be treated as a adult, I like whomever I am around to be themselves. I don't like someone to tip toes around me. I would recommend him to everyone. He is a caring and honest great doctor. The office is also nice because they have several therapy dogs. It makes me more relaxed.

I love this doctor. He is awesome and I have gone to him for over 10 years.

I would highly recommend this knowledgeable , experienced and caring doctor. He gets right to heart of your problems and doesn't waste your time or money!
