Dr. Theodore S Ingrassia, MD

Dr Ingrassia is extremely booked due to heading the ICU and I think he is also a pulmonary doctor, so today was my first visit seeing him, and I have had my cpap since April. The first mask I got was with the home medical equipment OSF building (amazing staff there, Eric is extremely helpful) but I wanted a different mask due to a couple issues I’ve been having, and today, Dr Ingrassias office gave me 2! Additionally, ALL their staff is super super nice. A couple months back when I was having issues with my first mask, I messaged dr ingrassias office & they forwarded my concerns to Eric at the home medical supply, and Eric gave me another mask (unfortunately didn’t work out either, my skin is very sensitive and gets raw rashes from the silicon, but Eric recommended a product I can purchase online called a cpap cover, and now my skin is great, but a full face mask just isn’t for me, it’s too hot and claustrophobic). The entire staff at this office is responsive and helpful. Every… employee I’ve interacted with over the phone or in the office is nice and helpful. Lisa at the front desk is nice, and so was the gal who helped me pick out masks, and so is Dr Ingrassia. Dr also gave me some other advice about my MJ smoking, he told me to switch to edibles if I must indulge basically. I like that he tries to be helpful, but he’s not condescending. He said he is also a lung doctor and doesn’t want me to become a lung patient, and I appreciate that. Also, he gave me a series of informational printouts with really good illustrations on them, they look like a college text book with full color and everything. He went over the data of my machine, explained a lot of things about sleep apnea in general, and adjusted the pressure of my cpap. He is really hooked, but he is well worth the wait.

Dr. Ingrassia is a world class doctor. He is also a great person.

I had my sleep study done through the clinic where Ingrassia works. I called for an appointment, utterly desperate with lack of sleep--sleeping maybe 3-4 hrs a night for weeks. I was told he could see me next year. Is he any good? I'll never know. I used to hear medicine was a caring profession. Ha.
