Dr. Theodore Marc Mazer, MD

I just returned from my visit with Dr. Mazer. Please extend my most sincere appreciation my PCP for his referral to Dr. Mazer! I found Dr. Mazer to be an experienced, knowledgeable, accomplished professional! Dr. Mazer was patient and respectful in his dealings with me. He was receptive to input from me and discussed @ length and in detail his thinking in regard to my concerns relative to the reason for my visit with him. I would recommend his services to anyone!

I was a bit reluctant in seeing Dr. Mazer due to a couple unkind reviews. I must say this Dr. was a gem; with a broad knowledge so impressive in his field.. I came in with symptoms I researched and thought I was well informed, oh my goodness, I was honored with his compassion, and immediate evaluation, with tests that ruled out what I thought for years I had! He is so dedicated to finding the proper diagnosis, and is matchless in his dedication and professionalism. So unlike some who are condescending; he went right to work explaining everything to the minute detail, and made me feel I was part of an amazing team to get me up and running. Indeed I found a gem in Alvarado!

I had a rough start with getting an appt, but Dr. Mazer is well worth the wait! He did an amazing job with the CT scans and helping me feel reassured in the findings and treatment. I ended up needing surgery on my sinuses and that all went perfectly last week and I am well on the mend already. I can breathe so much better than I can ever remember in my entire life. Definitely go here. They know their stuff and are very professional.

THIS GUY IS THE BIGGEST JERK, EXCUSE FOR A DOCTOR I'VE EVER SEEN. THE MOST UNCOMPASSIONATE, UNCARING PERSON EVER. HE TRIED TO CHARGE ME $25 FOR A CANCELLED APPOINTMENT. I ATTEMPTED TO CANCEL WITHIN 24 HOURS, BUT NO ANSWER. HE SENT IT TO COLLECTION. MONEY GRABBING JERK. I UNDERSTAND HE IS THE PRESIDENT OF THE CALIFORNIA MEDICAL ASSOCIATION, AND IS BACKING A NO VOTE ON PROP 8. AFTER READING PROP 8, I BELIEVE HE MUST HAVE HIS HAND IN MORE MONEY GRABBING, AND I WILL BE VOTING YES ON THIS PROPOSITION. PLEASE READ THE FINE PRINT. ALSO, PLEASE FILE A COMPLAINT WITH THE MEDICAL BOARD AGAINST THIS PIECE OF CRAP EXCUSE FOR A DOCTOR.

He is the worst doctor I have seen in my entire life. Beware, DO NOT PLAN TO VISIT HIM. His staff are simply the rudest. His office is simply the oldest in town. If you have missed jurassic park, you still have time to see it. He is so self centered pathetic snob. I really hope that he gets punished and lose his license for the way he treats his patients. I had an issue with my ears because of air flight. He simply does what he thinks right without even bothering to listen to your symptoms or complaints. It is obvious that he does not spend ANYTIME UPDATING HIS KNOWLEDGE! His tools are 80 years old and if you do not believe me go check it out. Contact me if you need more details. It will be my pleasure to save your life! They should add - stars. He definitely does not deserve 1 star.

Word to the wise, Be VERY careful with this office's 24 hour cancellation policy embedded within the patient consent form. Called office 4 hours before the appointment due to work emergency with staff acknowledging circumstance. However, an extremely belligerent and aggressive physician calling me at 9PM howling about collecting his $25 missed appointment fee threatening collection. There are more reasonable healthcare providers. San Diego is a big city. From a healthcare perspective, had me on two medications treating symptoms. Condition persists.

It seems that state funded insurance garners the worst cattle herders there are. His wait time is horrible. The time he spends with the patient is horrible. Diagnosis are horrible and he even prescribed a medication I initially told him I was allergic to. His inability to communicate on a respectful level is offensive.

Dr. Mazer's staff leaves something to be desired. Joline is the worst of all - very curt, rude, sarcastic, unprofessional, and uncaring in the way she handles patients! In addition, Dr. Mazer removed a scab on my ear drum before it was ready to come off, while it was still in the healing process. This resulted in unnecessary pain and an inner ear infection which caused vertigo for almost 2 weeks, and a trip to the hospital. I will never go back to that office again, nor will I recommend it to any one!!!!!
