Dr. Therese Marie Franko-Holstein, MD

Dr Holstien saved my son23 years ago when she was practicing obstetrics. Years later, After seeing many doctors in different specialties with no diagnosis for my pain, it was she that found my broken vertebrae. She was the only one that believed me when I kept complaining of pain. It wasn't even her specialty, but she cares enough to go the extra mile. She does not sugar coat things, so don't go to her if your looking to be pampered. However, if your looking for someone smart, that will solve your issues, she's the one.

Has receptionist call with test results that she doesn't understand/ can't answer questions about. Acts like it's an inconvenience to have someone with medical knowledge call you back. I wait forever in the exam room every appointment and then Dr. Holstein acts like she's in a rush and only spends about 5 minutes with me. Not a good listener and misinterprets nearly everything I say.

I went to Dr. Holstein because my daughter was coming of age and felt more comfortable with a female doctor. She is good at simple yearly pap smears, but if you needed a procedure I wouldn't recommend her. Had her remove a simple mole from a sensitive area and when I left the office I could tell it wasn't stitched well. When I went back for her to remove the stitches she wouldn't because it was so infected, even though I called her office to tell them that it was infected 3 days after the procedure. I then had a biopsy of my uterus and wasn't told what to expect and afterwards gave no instructions as to possible discomfort or bleeding. When I called the office to report the heavy bleeding they called in a prescription that was suppose to be a "precautionary" measure. For what I'm not sure. I had cramping for 2 1/2 weeks afterwards and periodical bleeding. I was scheduled for an endometrial ablation and needless to say I cancelled with them and told them I was going for a… second opinion.

I'm sure Dr Holstein is a smart doctor however I felt so uneasy in her office I refused the standard check up and just talked with her on my visit. After that, I never spoke with her again even though I had some questions about a sample drug she had given me, no one in her office could answer them. They told me they are hooked up with Relay Health but they are not, so I could not communicate that way either. I wasn't given enough patch samples and she refused to write me a prescription to carry me to my next visit so my question was answered. Stopping a vivelle dot patch WILL START YOUR PERIOD even if you're 54 years old. I came to my next appt on my period and of course they sent me away because I was ON MY PERIOD!!! Still no prescription to stop it and NO word from the doc except through a VERY rude office manager. The atmosphere is very unpleasant in this office....now I am awaiting my records....now thats on thing the staff knows about. They told me by law they have 30 days. Avoid… this doctor.

Since this doctor cannot practice obstetrics anymore her answer for any problem is to remove it. If you still have functioning organs and want to concieve her caring seems to be very low. She is the only one at the practice and there is no one on call. If it is after hours or she takes vacation you are out of luck.

Dr. Holstein is a great doctor. She delivered my children years ago and is now helping me through menopause. I can't say enough great things about her... but the bottom line is that she is a knowledgable physician who puts her patients first....

The wait time was great compared to other doctors. The staff was very nice, helpful and willing to accomodate/ answer any questions I had. Dr. Holstein is a good dr. but has a kind of stern school teacher look to her that can be intimidating. She seems to give solutions to a problem without exactly giving you the diagnosis. I think she forgets that the clients dont get a copy of test results like the dr.'s do. However she did answer all of my questions, briefly. Overall she is a decent doctor. I have decided to keep her as my doc. She hasnt ever been rushed or rude like other doc's have in the past.
