Dr. Thi Thien Tran, DO

I have been a patient with Village Dermatology for over 15 years for several reasons: 1. Dr. Tran is an excellent surgeon. I have always received excellent care and excellent results from him. 2. Dr. Tran is very compassionate and that matters just as much to me. I'm not looking only for a skilled surgeon but also for a doctor who cares about me - how I'm doing during the procedure and following. 3. Dr. Tran's staff is also very compassionate and caring, doing everything they can to make sure that you are comfortable and at ease during prep, the procedure, and following. 4. His staff that you see for routine care and follow up are outstanding also and I wouldn't go anywhere else. All in all, I don't think you could find a better dermatology practice. Patricia Holmes

Getting to be the norm, good doctor not so good staff. Front desk greeter, or whatever, needs a few days at charm school. When I appeared a few days after having a surgery to have someone look at the area, which was VERY tender, red and swollen, I was told we don't take walk-ins, you'll have to call and make an appointment. I pulled out my cell phone and then she said Don't do that, take a seat. Later she called me to the window and told me that someone would "work me in" but it would be like in over 3 hours from now. Really, do we have to go to an Urgent Care center to get someone to look at this fella's work?

I have gone to Village Dermatology for 10 years. On my first visit Philomena and Dr. Tran found a melanoma on my back. My husband puts lotion on my back everyday and never saw so much as a spot. It was not ugly or dark. Since then I have had another melanoma and a number of squamous removed. I have not seen any of my skin cancers. The professionals are trained to see them. PLEASE get your skin checked. Words cannot explain how much I love this office, Phil and Dr. Tran. They may have saved me. Bev Petrina

Dr. Tran is a skilled surgeon. Even the poor reviews acknowledge that. What I don't understand is the comments that he "cuts too much". Well, if there is skin cancer present, it needs to come out. Are these people saying they didn't have cancer? I love the guy. His staff is thorough and caring. All of my surgeries successfully removed any cancer. Post surgical care was excellent and there has been minimal scaring: especially on my face. I also had a case of shingles in progress during my several surgeries. Dr. Tran took the time to look at my condition, advise me and prescribed some topical creams to relieve discomfort. He did not get paid for this. It was above and beyond what I was actually seeing him for. He gets my highest recommendation.

My husband and I have been going to Dr. Thi T. Tran for 13 years. He is the very best dermatologist and we are lucky he is located in The Villages, FL. Thank you Dr. Tran and your wonderful staff.

If your looking for a dermatologist in the Villages that take your insurance , make sure you receive something in writing before you use this doctors office. you will not see the doctor unless you agree to wait another 30 minutes after you see his staff. If you have a biopsy and they find sometime that needs removal, you'll wait about two months for an appointment. (yes really). In the meantime I was told to keep an eye on the spot that needed attention! I must have gone to med school and didn't realize it. There has to be a better place to go!
