Dr. Thien Huong Vu

Thien H. Vu, DDS, FAGD
Dr.Vu received her dental degree from Creighton University in Omaha, NE. She then went on to complete her General Practice Residency at UCSF-Fresno University Medical Center in Fresno, CA.
Upon completion, she entered private practice and volunteered with the United Way Foundation in Florida. She became the first dental director for the Citrus County Public Health Dept. in Inverness, FL. She trained with multiple dental and medical organizations for adult sedation and hypnosis. Furthermore, she completed her pediatric sedation mini-residency at the University of Florida, Gainesville.
She has also studied at the following universities and societies: Loyola University Medical Center, Dental Organizations of Conscious Sedation (DOCS), American Society of Clinical Hypnosis, and the Academy of General Dentistry.
Her clinic in Florida received the American Academy of Pediatrics Healthy Kids Tomorrow grant of $250,000 to start a sedation clinic for kids with high fear, …physical disability, mental illness, or too young to comprehend dental treatment. She worked with the indigent population to increase dental health awareness and provide access to dental care. With what was suppose to be a children’s clinic became a family practice, providing dental treatment to both adults and children.
Dr. Vu received the title "Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry" (FAGD). A general dentist who is a FAGD has been recognized by other general dentists as a leader and an example to other dentists of the importance of quality continuing dental education. To earn a FAGD, a dentist must complete several hundred continuing dental education credit hours, pass a comprehensive exam and have been an AGD member for three continuous years.
Throughout her career, Dr.Vu has received many awards and recognitions for her strength in community services, leadership skills, volunteer works, and generosities. She is knowledgeable in American Sign Language (ASL), Vietnamese and dental Spanish. On her off time, she enjoys traveling, reading, rock climbing, yoga, and her dog, Photon.
