Dr. Thomas Clifford Barker, MD

Dr. Barker was our family physician for over 18 years. During this time he literally saved my life and my wife's life at least once by following up quickly when we had dangerous symptoms (kidney cancer in my case and my wife's inflamed gallbladder). He is very attentive and takes the time to listen to you.

My family have been patients of Dr. Barker for many years, Without warning, we received a certified letter saying we were no longer welcome in his practice, including all the other doctor in his medical group. Is this the way to treat patients?

Dr. Barker and staff always take the time to answer questions fully. Refers me and family to specialists when needed. His care is very comprehensive. Always spends the amount of time with me and family that is required. Bedside manner: caring, again spends the amount of time needed and is supportive. Follow ups as needed and gives the same amount of attention during any visit. Accuracy in diagnosing, as stated before he spends the time that is needed, runs tests when needed, follow up and referrals. Dr. Barker or staff with call to check on patient when necessary.

This doctor was my mother's physician for years and ignored occasional vaginal bleeding as "normal" during menopause. Subsequently, she was diagnosed by an oncologist as having stage 4 uterine cancer and passed away 2 weeks later. When asked to prescribe a pain medication during her suffering he flat out refused to give her anything stronger than Vicodin. During her 6 weeks of extreme pain and suffering, he never once called her to see how she was feeling. Run, don't walk from his office.
