Dr. Thomas Jefferson Blumenfeld, MD

Had a referral sent to doctor over 6 weeks ago. After not hearing anything after 3 weeks I called and was told that they needed diagnostic tests and images that I sent the next day. After hearing nothing for another 3 weeks I called again and was told doctor declined the referral 3 weeks prior. They don't care are not helpful and didn't have the courtesy to even call me.

Im age 52 and now starting age 17 double hip rods from Thomas that are best joints in my body,...Just told my first of 3 implants if i live to 100 still looks brand new after a false diagnosis from a bad az doc gave me 3 years ago...Just told i have at least 10 more years until my next surgery. During the false diagnosis Dr Blumenfelds nurse talked to me 3 years ago and didn't agree with the false diagnosis here in Arizona...glad I found this sac ca team...Im in Arizona and they always gave a helping hand. So proud Dr Blumenfeld told me my hips might last 20 years...I was well over 200....new hips I went down to 180 in less then a year and now as I get older Im 169 avg...and he only might be wrong cause Im 169 on hips built to hold 230 pd man and I have at least 8 more years on these hips....I can't express the thanks, saved my life, moving around lost weight....and now prove he might only be wrong that his hips don't just last 20 years...MINE WILL LAST AT LEAST 28 ...JUST SAW 5.0 DOC… HERE...BLUMENFELD IS 10.0...MIGHT HAVE TO MOVE BACK....I DON'T WANT A READ ABOUT BAD SURGERY ...my first set of 3 last 28 or 30 years until im 65 and 3 sets would put me over 120 years...3 sets from this doc would outlive me...I HAVE DJD....HIS DOUBLE HIP SURGERY TO ME NOW 17 YEARS AGO ARE BIONIC COMPARED TO REST OF MY JOINTS....MIGHT MOVE BACK FOR TO CA FOR MY KNEES CAUSE OF HIM..HOPE THIS ISN'T A BIT MUCH. I SHOULD WRITE A BOOK...LIFE CHANGING..

Excellent Physician. I have had both hips replaced by Dr. Blumenfeld with excellent results. Office staff is very friendly and Mary Pat is terrific.

Was referred by pain mgt doctor for a knee replacement 2nd opinion that has been 17 months and not healed. Was told my referral was being declined unless original surgeon did the referral. The 2 doctors offices are right next to each other . Did not expect that and was hoping for help

I have had an abysmal experience with this office and I am a new patient. The MD may have good skills, but time management and civility from office staff is poor.

Ten weeks ago I had a total hip replacement. Dr. Thomas Blumenfeld was my surgeon. Three hours after surgery I was walking. No problem. The only time I used a walker was going from the car into my home after my hospital stay; then I used a hiking stick for about a month. Two weeks post surgery I had about 80% of my energy backâ??100% at three weeks. I never felt weak or wobbly--just strong. For the past month, I have been hiking three miles several times a week with no pain. I take my hiking stick along as a reminder. I have had very little pain to speak of since the surgeryâ??certainly no pain from what was once a severely arthritic hip. I cannot believe my good fortune to have found a doctor with the expertise of Thomas Blumenfeld. He is an extremely skilled and talented orthopedic surgeon and a really nice and caring man. He is easy to be around and pays attention when you are speaking. He also has a lovely staff. As you have read, my surgery was a… breeze--I had the best possible outcome, the easiest recovery imaginable and I have Dr. Blumenfeld to thank. I highly recommend this doctor and cannot imagine finding a better orthopedic surgeon...anywhere.

In addition to being extremely knowledgeable and highly skilled, Dr. Blumenfeld is a very compassionate and understanding surgeon. His goal seems to be to restore a patient to a lifestyle s/he had prior to having been interrupted by a painful knee/hip and he does so with tremendous skill and grace. I recommend him without reservation.
