Dr. Thomas Whiteford Boeker, MD

Not only is Dr. Boeker an amazing psychiatrist, he is an amazing human being. He genuinely cares for his patients and takes his time to assess all concerns and needs. Every appointment is unique. He is very organized and schedules his patients to make sure they don't have to wait and they see him as soon as they walk in the door. He's highly intelligent, thoughtful, insightful, clever, funny, and so much more. I can't even begin to explain how much of a positive impact he has made in my life. At first, I was a little intimidated by him, scared he would shun me as a patient because of my situation, but he sat me down and we discussed long-term goals and achievements and we made them a reality. He has a laid-back, soothing personality that makes people feel comfortable sharing things with him that they would otherwise hide or be ashamed of. He isn't like other M.D.'s who will ask you a few questions, prescribe you meds and send you on your way, no, he makes sure he works with you to… address all of your problems and concerns to get you on the best track in life. If you're looking for a knowledgeable, caring psychiatrist, look no further. With Dr. Boeker, you know you're in good hands.

Unfortunately I have been to a number of psychiatrists in Wilmington, NC over the years. I can say, without a doubt, Dr. Boeker rates, by far in every category above, and more. Not only for Psychiatrists, but M.D.'s in general. This is a caring, laid back, extremely knowledge person that works WITH you. There is no wait either, as he is the rare M.D. that does not overbook. I can not say enough good words about this doctor and person.
