A graduate of Princeton University and the University of Miami, he is board certified in clinical psychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP)—a credential earned by less than 5% of psychologists practicing in the U.S.He was recently elected state President of the Florida Psychological Association (FPA), and is serving his term in 2020. Locally, he served as President of FPA’s Miami-Dade-Monroe Chapter for 2013-14 (and was previously its President in 1989), and has provided leadership in various capacities to the profession of psychology for most of his career. He is also a Fellow of the Academy of Clinical Psychology. Over the past several years Dr. Bonner has received advanced training and supervision in Transference Focused Psychotherapy (TFP) from faculty members of the Personality Disorders Institute at the Weill Cornell Medical College.
