Terrible Dr. yelled and slammed the curtains at me because I was a concerned parent. was telling me to get out of the ER and this was in front of a 3 year old. My son was having retractions and although the PA who treated him did help his symptoms as a parent I have the right to be concerned and question if going home is appropriate considering on arrival his oxygen was 89% and he was so pale. I’ve worked in ERs and I’m so glad I don’t this one. This Dr is so unprofessional. Yelling and slamming curtains leaving the door wide open because I advocated for my son. Of course he done it while it was just me there a female. So be careful having this Dr if alone as a female: he definitely has issues.

I took my newborn baby to the ER with concerns about her arm. Turns out she had a broken collar bone. I asked the doctor if this is something that could have happened during birth. He said absolutely not. He proceeded to accuse my husband and myself of child abuse, calling the police and CPS on us. Turns out he was wrong about her collarbone and it had happened during child birth. If he would have read the X-ray correctly this whole situation could have been avoided. He’s a horribly ignorant doctor and instead of doing his job and taking the time to read the X-ray correctly, he jumped to conclusions accusing us of horrible accusations!!! He didn’t care at all about fixing the problem, he was only focused on placing the blame on someone.

Dr. Calkins sewed up a gash in my forehead in a very visible location. This was excellent, excellent work and I doubt there will be a scar thanks to his fine "needlepoint". So nice to find someone this good with a suture in an ER setting.

Dr. Calkins treated me while I was in the ER department at Mission Hospital. He was very thorough and caring. Although he could have released me the same day I came in, he chose to keep me overnight for observation and to run some tests in the morning. Fortunately everything turned out to be ok, but I know if something was wrong I was in great hands!
