Summary
I worked in youth ministry as a young adult, and then in hcaplaincy and pastoral ministry before seeking additional training as a psychotherapist focusing on the mitigation of human suffering, and enriching family relationships and spiritual growth. I have integrated the body in psychological and spiritual healing, using practices that help us deepen our embodied awareness and enjoyment.
I majored in history at the University of Georgia, and in pastoral ministry (M.Div.) at Candler School of Theology in Emory University, and then in family studies at the University of Georgia (M.S.). I received my clinical training at Grady Hospital in Atlanta, Athens General Hospital and the Northeast Georgia Mental Health Center in Athens, GA. I am a Clinical Fellow and Approved Supervisor in the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT), a Certified yoga Therapist with the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT), and have training and experience in spiritual …guidance, in conflict resolution, and in meditation. I have taught professional ethics and marriage and family therapy in the University of Georgia. I have practiced counseling and related services for 40 years.
My commitment is to nonjudgemental openness to all persons, regardless of race, gender, ethnicity or religion, and I practice an inter-faith perspective of spirituality.
