Dr. Thomas Phillip Carson, MD

Our initial evaluation was ok not as thorough as our previous cardiologist in Boston. However it all went down hill from there. Our return appointment was rushed and the results of the tests skimmed over. We left without any guidance. I will be finding someone else for my daughter.

Unfortunately, my 14 year old son was referred to this doctor by his pediatrician. As soon as I walked in to the office, I could tell this place needs work. The receptionist at the front desk was extremely rude and unprofessional. I was not aware that they only accepted cash payments for an EKG. I only usually carry credit, debit cards or checks. As I asked her if she would please make an exception and consider accepting one of these forms of payment for a $20 payment, she sarcastically told me to go to a bank down the road and use their ATM. I could not believe that someone like this was working at a doctors office. I honestly wonder where they find these people. I had to drive about a mile away just to get $20. My son was taken to the back by another employee who was not very polite either for his EKG. We never saw the doctor, she told us he would read the EKG results. She came back into the room and dismissed us by saying everything is normal. The office needs new staff and… a complete facelift, it looks like a dump, everything including the medical equipment looks old. Bad experience, I will never again drive out of my way to go back there. F-

I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED WHEN MY DAUGHTER WENT TO DR. CARSON. DR. APPLETON WAS SO THOROUGH WHEN HE SAW HER. EKG, ECHO, AND HEART MONITOR. DR. CARSON TOOK HER BLOOD PRESSURE AND THAT WAS IT. YOU LIKE TO KNOW THAT YOUR CHILD IS GETTING A COMPLETE EXAMINATION . ESPECIALLY WHEN DEALING WITH THE HEART. HE TOLD HER THAT SHE DIDN'T HAVE ANYTHING TO WORRY ABOUT UNTIL SHE REACHES THE AGE OF 40. SHE IS 29 NOW. THAT WAS THE LAST THING SHE NEEDED TO HEAR . SHE BECAME VERY UPSET AND SCARED. .

It's so disturbing to see some of these reviews. I've known Dr. Carson for many years and have never had a problem. He has always gone the extra mile for both of my children. We have been patients for over 10 years and that is after going to a few other physicians that didn't make me feel as comfortable. All physicians are very busy and Dr. Carson always spent so much time with me calming my kids down and directing me for the proper care.

I went with my son because it was faster to get an appointment now I know why. He was unprofessional. His staff: of you can call it that were not at all helpful or kind. The office was unsanitary. The doctor seemed as if he was trained the what not to do when treating children or maybe he went to med school at a place on the back of a matchbox. I am never going back I have made an appointment with Dr. Garcia whose reviews are better. I have learned my lesson.

I looked at this site the day before our scheduled appointment, seeing mixed reviews but went through with our appointment none the less. We had a great experience from being to end from the staff to the doctor. I felt compelled to go back onto this site because the negative reviews are just unfounded!

I too am shocked by an earlier review and can assure you that these reviews are not my experience at all. My son has been a patient of Dr. Carson's for 27 years and has undergone 6 heart surgeries so the follow up that Dr. Carson has been involved in has been extensive. He is not only caring but he is a fine clinician who has researched the best facilities for my sons surgical care. He is happy to spend whatever time is necessary to educate and provide a clear understanding of the particular issue at hand and always treats my son with the utmost respect no matter what his age or disability was. I can assure you that you are in excellent hands if you choose Dr. Carson to be a part of your team.

I am in total shock reading some of these comments, and even had to double check that I was searching the correct doctor! I have never had a bad experience with this doctor or office staff. My son has been seen by Dr. Carson for the past 3 years or so now for a heart condition. We chose this office after feeling uncomfortable with the first cardiologist our son was directed to. Dr. Carson and his staff have always been very welcoming and kind to us. Every time we have visited this office Dr. Carson has always taken the time to go over all of our questions with us, no matter how long it took. He is very through and gets right to the point of what he needs to say which I like and appreciate. The echo tech is also wonderful. She always makes sure our son feels calm and comfortable during those long echos by talking and joking with him, and helps him to pick out a movie of his choice before starting. I would recommend this doctor to everyone.

What kind of doctor comes into a room and doesn't even say good morning to his patients? This doctor got no manners, and is as ignorant as those who believe their race, economical status, language, etc is above everybody else in this world... he is such an unprofessional doctor, if he is so bored or tired of the job he chose to do, I'll recommend him to just go ahead and retire, what family needs to put up with a doctor making faces and barely opening his mouth to answer a simple question? What a waste of time and money!!!!! Definitely take your kids and money somewhere else...especially if you don't belong to his race, just saying!!!!

We had a great experience! We appreciated the kid friendly atmosphere and the staff was so patient with my 3 year old son. Many thanks to everyone at Dr Carson's office. I would highly recommend him to friends/family.
