Dr. Cate is easy to reach, easy to get an appointment with and so caring. Always listens and has time for me!!!

I am not a big fan of Doctors but was recommended to Dr Cate many years back. I find he is very professional and genuine in his concerns for your well being. He’s not a Pharmaceutical drug pushing doctor and that is refreshing. I would recommend him to my family and friends.

Dr. Cate was recommended to me by my sister. I am so happy that I have now been with him for four years. He is thorough, allows me to ask any questions, very patient and explains everything simply and clearly. I would highly recommend Dr. Cate 100%! I have found my physician for life. I've been a patient of Dr. Cate for about three years now, and he and his staff are always very attentive, caring, and thorough. I have many health issues, and am not an easy patient. But Dr. Cate stays on me to do the right things to get better.

Early this summer I was a new patient of Dr. Thomas Cateâ??s at the Granger Medical Clinic located in St. Markâ??s Hospital in SLC, UT. At the beginning of this visit we went over my medications and preexisting conditions. When we broached the subject of the Lexapro I was taking, I told him I had been diagnosed and was undergoing continued, weekly therapy for Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder and PTSD. When we spoke about the Gabapentin I was taking, we reviewed my diagnosis of severe Peripheral Neuropathy and Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. These conditions have been verified by various specialists. Dr. Cate then proceeded to address my history of appointment cancellations with my previous physicians at Granger Medical Clinic. There were a half dozen or so that I had called to cancel before the 24 hour deadline, with a few under the deadline I had incurred early with my association with the clinic (my then physician was helping me with my anxiety medications and was… understanding of my situation). Chronic pain and sometimes disabling anxiety makes it quite unbearable to leave my home at times, and I told Dr. Cate as much at this time during the examination. At this point, Dr. Cate leveled a smoldering stare at me and stated that missing appointments with him was intolerable. I couldâ??ve accepted that, and was about to ask if it would be better for me to find a doctor that could better work with my situation, but he added, â??That would make me angryâ?¦you donâ??t want to make me angry.â?? In the moment I was shocked that he would threaten me like that. I didnâ??t know how to take it or what he meant by it. I was angered and intimidated, I didnâ??t know what to do (other than to suppress a panic episode). Iâ??m not used to people talking to me that way, let alone physicians that should know better. I had just told him all of my most vulnerable medical and psychological diagnoses, and he made a power play? Not only was his arrogant attitude repugnant but his lack of or disregard for a practical knowledge of the doctor/patient relationship and inherent power differentials was astounding. I finished my visit in an emotional blur, scheduled a follow up appointments as I was told and got out of the Granger Medical Clinic as soon as I could. Heretofore that clinic had been a safe place, but Iâ??ll never go back. Afterwards, the flush of emotions that appointment brought to mind made me forget about the follow up I had scheduled. My wife has been communicating with Dr. Cateâ??s office to have the $30 late fee removed (my anxiety has kept me from being able to contact the office directly), but Dr. Cate staunchly refuses to waive it. Thus I write this review and will be dealing with this personally from here on. NOT recommended.

I have no complaint when it comes to talking to him it is easy & relaxed. He not a pill push like my last doctor. I is very good at reminding me to reset up an appointment after I had to skip an appointment. He make correct diagnoses.

He was very involved with me during my exam. Took time to go over all my concerns.

Dr Care is very unprofessional did the despicable thing of mailing a letter that stating he will no longer see me this happened out of the blue without any warning or explanation. Also the letter stated that I couldn't see anyone at the practices. I have an ongoing condition that needs constant monitoring and medications. Which basically he acted he doesn't care.

Randy Cate used to be a very good physician but the last few years he has his mind somewhere else besides being a doctor. I have discontinued seeing him and feel he needs to be reported for his lack of compassion and disrespect to me as his patient.
