Dr. Thomas Cid-Ming Chin, MD

He's condescending and without even asking for symptoms or anything just goes off of what little info the receptionist took and came in saying "I can't diagnose you unless you want me to guess what you have"

Had a horrible visit with him. Made an appt with his wife, but was passed on to him without explanation. Before was even able to finish my current situation and condition, he interrupted me many times. Was very condescending and arrogant. His explanation is that we can not live in a bubble, and that my only option is to take 2 different allergy medications everyday for the rest of my life whether I have any symptoms or not. I have never been allergic to anything in my life, but after being allergy tested by his staff, I am all of a sudden allergic to the most common items I have exposed myself to daily. I understand bodies change, hormones change, and over time people become more sensitive to things that items they once never were, but the allergy test they gave me is questionable as the same needle was used to pierce me on all the allergy spots. There was no attempt to really help me resolve my current condition except getting shots every week for the next 3-5 yrs of my life… (which may or may not work) and take medication. His bedside manner is horrible, lack of listening skills, and the fact that I wasn't even there to see him, but his Allergist wife- well, I am not going back. I am not wasting my good insurance with them, when there is more doctor options available.

Most of the negative comments are on his bedside manner, and I think Dr. Chin is changing for the better. He was fairly pleasant and made me feel comfortable during my times in his office. I'll say this for him...I've seen him three times within the last couple of years and his diagnosis and prescriptions have been spot on. I have full confidence in Dr. Chin's ability to help me with minor or serious skin disorders. He's always handy with coupons for prescriptions which saved me quite a few bucks (yes, he probably gets "points" with the drug companies when I use those coded coupon cards). And yes, his office does still need to be straightened out and not look so disorderly...but the next time I have a skin disorder I'm coming straight back to Dr. Chin.

Dr. Chin and the assistant will straight up lie to you about food allergies so they can con you into getting weekly treatments for years.I came to him with a bacterial infection on my skin and he asked if I was allergic to any foods and if I've been tested before.Eager to test me, they found I'm allergic to oranges, peanut butter, eggs, and basically a random assortment of foods that I've been eating all my life.Unconvinced, I had a second opinion and found out I'm not allergic to any of those.While waiting, I remember seeing other patients he has managed to con with this trick come in for their weekly allergy shots.STAY AWAY.

I went there over the weekend because I had an eczema flare up and couldn't get an appointment with my regular doctor. This place is dirty, unprofessional, and overall not an environment that should be giving medical care. There were files everywhere and it looked like a scene out of HOARDERS. I have private insurance and the receptionist did not know what to do with it. They wanted me to pay $100 in cash when my insurance card clearly stated that a specialist is only $40. When I gave them my flexible spending card they told me they couldn't take it as they don't have a credit card machine.The nurses put me on a nebulizer where the tubes were cleaned in a child's sand bucket. Everything around me just looked very dirty and unsanitary and I am sure the place would get shut down if I reported it to the board of health.The nurse tried to rush me in filing out my file and had the audacity to tell me to just put anything on there. GEEZ, this is my medical file and she wanted me to… just put anything.When I finally did see Dr. Chin he didn't even ask to look over my skin. He just read my files and immediately started prescribing me things and giving me coupons for the many creams which he has plenty of. All in all, he prescibed 7 different creams for me which I am supposed to put one on top of another and I have to repeat this routine 3 to 4 times a day! This is crazy.When I got home, I ended up emailing my regular dermatologist and begged her for help. I went to see her the next day and she said all the creams Dr. Chin prescribe for me are unnecessary and his advice is bad medicine. After this incident, I am never going to see another doctor in Chinatown again.

BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD WORST DOCTOR I VE EVER SEEN. OFFICE IS DIRTY,MESSY EXAM ROOM IS BIG MESS. DO NOT GO!

The entire clinic is not professional at all. The only thing they cared is to get money from your pocket.

The minute he saw me was very grumpy and had the audacity to blame me for my condition. I tried to tell him what was wrong and he cut me off saying, "I'll tell you whats wrong with you. You're allergic to the world. I told you to start your treatment last year and now you're back complaining." Dr. Chin never suggested any treatment at all for my condition and when I told him that he blamed me for not asking. He also told me that he'd provide me with whatever medication I'd want, but it wouldn't matter because I would come back crying to him anyway. He also concluded that I'm cheap due to the health insurance I currently own because he was SO nice in trying to prescribe me the "good" stuff that most health insurances won't cover. "They probably won't cover this because you don't buy the good insurance," as he so eloquently put it. He did not examine the afflicted area during my visit. All he did was make me feel uncomfortable.His office is a complete mess with papers everywhere. He… couldn't even find his own prescription pad during my visit. Normally you'd expect doctors to exude some form of professionalism, but that is not the case. To him, I'm an idiot because I'm the patient and he is the all knowing, all powerful doctor. There is absolutely NO reason to subject yourself to someone that has no respect for you. He is NOT a doctor. He DOES NOT care about his patients. DO NOT waste your time.There are better dermatologists in NYC.

DURING MY VISITS TO DR. CHIN HE SPENT THE WHOLE VISIT TYPING ON THE COMPUTER. I SEEN HIM FOR 1 YEAR AND NOT ONE TIME DID HE DO A PHYSICAL EXAM. HE IS QUITE RUDE AND SEES THINGS ONLY THROUGH HIS EYES AND POINTS OF VIEW. I DID NOT FEEL THAT I WAS BEING TREATED AS AN INDIVIDUAL. I THINK THAT HE TREATED ME BASED ON MY PAST AND NOT ON MY PRESENT BEING. HE ALSO BASED HIS DECISION TO NOT PRESCRIBE PAIN MEDS TO ME BECAUSE A FORMER COLLEAUGE HAD RECENTLY LOST HIS LICENSE TO PRESCRIBE PAIN MEDS.
