Dr. Thomas S Chow, MD

I called Dr. Chow’s office to speak with an office manager. I spoke with Yin about my mother’s experience. I also learned the receptionist’s name is Carolyn. Yin was very defensive after I asked if Carolyn was a medical professional that could tell my mother what type of doctor she should be seeing. Yin also would not let me speak, & kept interrupting me. Carolyn stated how I was not on my mother’s file to speak with, yet Yin mentioned much about my mother’s medical history. When I asked for someone above Yin, she told me “I think your mom should find a new doctor.” I have never had such an unprofessional interaction with a medical office. I am highly disappointed.

My mother was referred to Dr. Chow & because I work out of state, I told my mom to have me on speakerphone during her 2nd appointment so I can ask questions about the plan of care. My mom had a fall and had a followup appointment, & the receptionist at the desk told my mother “you don’t need to see Dr. Chow, you need to see an orthopedic.” She also told her “your daughter has to be here in person for him to talk to her, you cannot have her on the phone.” I do not know the receptionist name, but she should not be telling my mom what kind of doctor to see, nor answering for the doctor as to whether he will speak with me on my mom’s phone. I am listed on my mother’s records & also in the medical field. My mother was not seen for her appointment & requested a new neurosurgeon that is willing to speak with me via phone. This is a bad reflection upon Dr. Chow.

I wouldn’t recommend this dr go look at my dog much less a human being. Save yourself some time and find some one else.

Hard to find a passionate Doctor like Dr. Chow. He is an angel!!

Did a wonderful job I had two heriniated disc in neck left and rt side. I lost no movement and have been great every since. This was done in 2001.

Dr. Chow performed a double level fusion on my lumbar back in 2010 with 6 screw and 2 rods. Although he continuously said all was going well in the subsequent 3 follow up visits, I have now discovered that none of the fusion healed and 2 screws have stripped out of the bone. I am scheduled to have it all replaced by another surgeon in 10 days using more up to date techniques.

Dr. Chow treated my back pain. The treatment was effective almost immediately. I appreciate his conservative approach to my condition. His office staff is congenial and helpful. I would recommend Dr. Chow to my family and friends.
