Dr. Thomas K. Comfort, MD

Dr. Comfort has repaired one of my shoulders and replaced one hip. Great results so far. He will be replacing my other hip shortly. I'm confident I'll see good results then as well. Kudos also to Molly and the rest of the staff that has made both events run smooth.

I’ve had two hip surgeries done by doctor “comfort”. I was put in 6 months of pt and about a year of non stop tests. I had the surgeries he recommended and nothing has gotten better, if anything it’s gotten worse. It’s been about a year now from my dual hip surgeries and I’m currently looking for other doctors.

Ive had both knees replaced 2008,2013 I'm 69 years young, i ice skate during the winter and bicycle 10 miles a day during the summer. I'm pain free and very active, what more can you ask of your doctor.

Very good Doctor, two total knee replacements, The rehab took a bit but it was better than what I had. I can not thank him and his staff enough, they gave me my legs back.

Excellent skill, patience, knowledge, humor, kindness. I could not be happier with my surgery and experience. I recommend him to everyone.

Dr. Comfort really fits his name. I have had many procedures done by him. When he did my total knee it really was not nearly as bad as I thought Follow his directions and you will running around in no time. He is thorough, but his demeanor is the best. He is laid back and COMFORTABLE with his patients . He is never rattled and he really knows his business. I recommend him to anyone with Ortho needs.

Previous encounters with Dr. Comfort for shoulder and knee surgeries were positive and had good outcomes. Recent issues with an artificial hip implant over the past year and a half have been frustrating. Test after test, physical therapy, and cortisone injections. Meanwhile my hip pain continues to worsen and my mobility is becoming more and more limited. The last appointment was basically "you have me stumped'. After receiving copies of my medical records and doing an internet search on the hip implant, which is a DePuy Pinnacle metal and metal system I found that there are hundreds of pending lawsuits regarding the implant due to premature failure. Why wasn't information shared with me regarding known problems with this implant?

I have a $12,000 deductible so I wanted to know all options and what 'standard' tests I did not need to have. He spent plenty of time answering my questions and allowing me to decide my best course of action. His PA and staff were good. He spent time explaining in laymans terms what exactly was wrong and my different options.

Yes, sometimes the wait time is a little long, but then sometimes patients take longer than expected. Having worked in an orthopaedic office, I realize that and am more patient than I would normally be. Dr. Comfort is always to the point, provides options, makes suggestions, and listens to what treatment I prefer. I have a great deal of respect for him as a surgeon and plan to continue my care with him and SCO.

I had a bulged disk, so I was told to see him. The whole appt. took weeks to make and when he saw me, it was for only 10 min. He basically said, "why were you sent to me? Your issue is nerve damage not bone". And he left. He didn't suggest whom else I should see, he just left. So I wrote a letter to the clinic asking them not to bill me for this visit. And that he was rude to me. He didn't do anything - and didn't suggest to where or whom else to see. Skip forward to 2 years later and I had just broke my foot. So I called them and that is when I found out that I was banned from the clinic due to my letter. BANNED FROM THE CLINIC!!! I was so insulted!! I only hope people stay away from this clinic *obviously they do not need customers as it's hard to get an appt. there anyway, but with a broken foot, to be banned -- to me that is just plain wrong! Now - I don't just blame Dr. Comfort but the administration of the facility as well! I do feel like I should get an apology from the clinic.… But of course, I will be waiting forever for that to happen.
