Dr. Thomas Nathan Crumbley, MD

This is the proverbial “give them 0 stars is I could” review. I recently had a couple of appointments with Dr. Thomas Crumbley and couldn’t be more disappointed with his treatment plan. I tried be open to his therapy (I actually worked in one of the leading psych hospitals in the US many moons ago) but his views are questionable at best. I’ve been diagnosed by two other psychiatrists over the years and both put me on the same medication that had ZERO side effects. Dr. Crumbley, in whatever infinite wisdom he has, tried pushing two other medications instead of what I’ve been taking for the past 7 years. Both of his suggested medications come with serious side effects, including suicidal thoughts, and seriously alter brain chemistry. Objectively speaking, his treatment plan was irresponsible at best and borderline dangerous. I should have paid more attention to other reviews posted about him saying, “Extremely outdated views. Spoke over me and was dismissive” and “He's worse than his… patients.” Both of which are very accurate. I would highly recommending seeking treatment from someone else at Denova. You should run, not walk, away from this provider. He should probably stick to raising his horses instead of “treating” humans.

I am trying to respect this doctor and make him my ally...I believe in his ability regarding meds, psych issues, etc. I am sure he has much training and certifications or what have you. BUT...I leave his office crying almost everytime. I understand he is a health fanatic which is awesome...more power to you but he beats patients down if you have a "flaw" such as a weight issue. How many times can you mention it to a patient before you see your patient break down in tears over it? I have struggled with weight my entire life...baby to adult...and I beat myself up all on my own everyday over it. I try to starve, do the laxative things, puke, whatever and this is just who I am. Is it really so wrong to try and accept who you are right where you are at your life? I must have a really messed up body image because I go out of my way to dress very nice (thank god for Lane bryant, Avenue, Macys plus dept, etc...) Full face of makeup everyday, hair styled, etc...but all they see is the… fat. I have just given up. People come in all shapes and sizes and does that make us any more unlovable? I just want to hide in my house because of it. I promise you this, I am not lazy...I run circles around my aneroxic sister...always doing something. Maybe on a lazy sunday I might actually watch a movie on the tv but most any other time you will find me on the go. It is too bad, some nice man is missing out on all I have to offer and when I find my soul mate, Dr. C can truly cram it up his behind. Not my fave doctor by any means. I just go in for my weekly beatings and am trying to put a shield around myself so he can't hurt me anymore.
