Baltimore Magazine, a poll of over 1,000 local dentists twice voted Dr.
Thomas Daley the top periodontist
in the area.
Dr. Daley frequently attends
postgraduate courses, writes articles and abstracts and is a member of
three study clubs. His leadership and commitment to organized dentistry and education are evident by his
active involvement in state and
national dental societies. Dr. Daley was the Maryland State Delegate to
the American Dental Association, and in 1996 and 1997 served as
president of the Maryland State Dental Association. He was on the Board
of Trustees for eleven years, has served as president of the Maryland
Association of Periodontics and was the national president of Psi Omega
Dental Fraternity, an organization of 30,000 dentists. Dr. Daley is also
a fellow in the Pierre Fauchard Academy. He represents Maryland on the
board of directors of the National Dental Museum located in Baltimore.
Dr. Daley was honored in 2006 by the Maryland State Dental Association
for his distinguished service to his colleagues in the dental profession
as well has his dedication to the advancement of oral health care.
Dr. Daley earned his undergraduate
degree in chemistry from the University of Akron and his dental degree
from Case Western Reserve University. He completed his residency (for a
master's degree in periodontics) at CWRU and Cleveland Clinic. Before
entering private practice in 1978, Dr. Daley taught periodontics and
occlusion full-time at Northwestern University School of Dentistry. He
was an assistant professor of periodontics and clinical director of the
Special Patient Clinic at the University of Maryland Dental School. In
addition, Dr. Daley was a guest lecturer at John's Hopkins University
for many years. Currently, he is the regional dentist serving on the
Oral B symposium panel. Dr. Daley travels nationally for Oral B to
lecture on Evidence Based Dentistry.
