Dr. Thomas Walter Deacon, MD

My son started seeing Dr. Deacon at 18 months after his previous Dr. retired. I was very impressed with his bed side manor. he spent time with me and answered any questions I had .. My son required a referral for a sonogram and to see a specialist. His office had everything taken care of very quickly. With in hours I was on the phone with the hospital making the appointment. Dr. Deacon called after each apt and was very prompt with the results. I really appreciate his level of professionalism.

We've been with Dr. Deacon since our first child was born almost ten years ago. He is fantastic--at well-visits he always starts by asking what questions or concerns we might have and makes sure we have had any questions accurately answered before he leaves. The children actually look forward to going to the doctor because everyone at the office and Dr. Deacon are so kind. Environment is very kid-friendly and inviting.

We saw this doctor in 2013. I will summarize this doctor as smart but weird. I have 2 children one of whom is autistic. Dr Deacon's behavior towards my autistic son was heartbreaking. He treated him like an insect specimen in the lab and kept avoiding any physical contact with him. When my son showed mild anxiety during physical exam, Dr Deacon refused to complete the physical exam. Although he accurately diagnosed my daughter's problem, his insensitivity and lack of compassion has permanently dented his image in my opinion. No one deserves that kind of treatment. I will not be going back to him or recommending him.

We've been with Dr. Deacon for almost 5 years now. After playing the doc shuffle with my 7 year old before finding Dr. Deacon I can say that I am beyond glad we found him. The office is very easy to get to, we're always able to get an appointment, the staff is pretty friendly, and the inside is very clean and really nicely decorated. Dr. Deacon is very mild-mannered and soft spoken and speaks very slowly and succinctly in order to ensure that parents understand his diagnoses and get all of their questions answered. He's not very "warm and fuzzy" but he's hands down the best pediatrician I've found in the Dallas/DeSoto/Duncanville area. Especially if you're more interested in getting answers to your kids' health issues and being taken seriously when you think there is something wrong. Personally I don't care that he doesn't spend time joking and chit-chatting because I know without a doubt that his only goal at the end of our visit is that my kids have received the best diagnosis and… treatment.

Dr Deacon is a great dr he cares about his patients and takes the time out to get to know them personally. Dr deacon is the dr for all three of my ill ones !!!!

Dr. Deacon has provided my children with excellent service for 11+ years. He is always friendly and is extremely patient. I would recommend him to anyone.
