Dr. Thomas Darren Devine, MD

On my 1st (and only) appointment with Dr. Devine, I told him my underactive thyroid was being treated by my GYN at Rush in Chicago and that since seeing her 10 yrs before, I felt so much less tired. He said, "You don't need thyroid medicine, you have depression." I told him I'd been on antidepressants 15 yrs and they didn't help my exhaustion, but the thyroid medicine did. Told him my GYN had been named one of the best doctors in Chicago BY HER PEERS. He said that he was sure that she was good, but that not many doctors knew as much as he did about the thyroid. He really is that arrogant and condescending! He suggested I was taking them to lose weight. I only weighed 110 at the time.

Dr. Devine is an excellent doctor. He really cares about his patients and will continue working on to finding solutions for whatever your problems are.

Even though Dr. Devine has been my mother's doctor for many years he has abandoned her in her time of need- when she's dying of cancer. This man is extremely arrogant , condescending, stubborn, and is easily angered when someone disagrees with him. Some of his staff members are also very rude, to say the least.

Dr. Devine took the time to explain things thoroughly. He discussed results for different treatments available. I needed knee x-rays and got them immediately after the office visit; I only had to walk down the hall and the x-ray technician was waiting for me.

I have been a patient of Dr. Devines for many years. He also treats/ed other family members of mine. He is a second to none doctor, I would recommend him to anyone that is seeking the full package in a physician. He is kind and compationate. When my father passed away (who was diagnosed correctly by Dr. Devine) he was straight forward, professional and caring to the very end.

Thinks he knows it all! Lots of people do like him, but I know a few that he has really misdiagnosed as well as shown a complete lack of compassion, especially around life and death issues.

I have received very good medical care from Dr Devine. My quality of life is good because he accurately diagnosed my symptoms. He researches all my complaints and treats them correctly.
