Dr. Thomas Walter Donner, MD

I have been a patient of Dr. Donner's in excess of 15 years and I have found him to display outstanding consistent medical knowledge, professionalism and care. I am a 67 year old african american woman with a myriad of diagnosed diseases and have numerous medical providers. I have not ever met a doctor like Dr. Donner. He is patient, understanding, extremely knowledgeable, care and consistently encourages compliance with is recommendations and directives. Recently, I have received new diagnoses and I advised Dr. Donner. They were not in his area but he referred me to Dr. Abularrage who I know has me on the right path. If there are citations, awards, monetary compensations or other forms of recognition, I highly recommend that Dr. Thomas Donner, not be nominated but selected as having earned the highest degree of recognition. He does all of this from his heart and does not expect anything. Thank you so much for having some one of Dr. Donner's qualifications on the staff of Johns… Hopkins University Hospital.

This office is not responsive to critical issues. I needed this doctor to call my insurance company or to submit a new prescription since the insurance company was refusing my insulin refill. I explained to the office that I would be out of insulin if it weren’t submitted and guess what, I am out. Why do doctors keep taking patients when clearly they can’t keep up with their needs? Also if doctors don’t have enough time, they clearly need medical staff (NP’s, etc) who can fill in for these doctors. The healthcare system in America really needs an overhaul. I really see why people seek natural medicine doctors whenever they can.

I am a patient with blood sugar problems who has not brought in b.g.'s with me, but I have given him troubling trends. Although DrDonner is wonderful, this is THE area he needs to focus on and find a way to help wayward patients do a better job. After 52 years of juvenile diabetes, I finally went on the pump which does a much better job of helping to control extremely brittle diabetes. I have many, many horrendous side effects which could have no doubt been prevented. Dr. Donner is amazing, but make sure you find a way of getting those blood sugars under control and don't just keep going along with the same blood sugar results. Dr. Donner needs to help make SURE a patient is exercising and trying the pump if control is not excellent. The seriousness and dead center need for this cannot be overemphasized. In my case, only the steady drip of insulin from the pump could achieve the desired A1C and prevention of out of control high blood sugars. Much of the blame is mine, but Dr. donner… does need to get behind a patient and really emphasize the absolute NECESSITY of near perfext blood glucose control. In every other qrea he is NEAR PERFECT! and you will LOVE HIM AS A DR! Prevention is key, however, and must be emphasized!

He's one of the best doctors I have ever seen, and I have seen a lot in my life. He is on the money and cares enough to take the time to answer your questions and make sure you understand. He is also the most thorough doctor I have ever encountered.
