Dr. Thomas Slade Dozier, MD

In my opinion, my child was treated with gross negligence at Charleston ENT & Allergy at the hands of Dr. Dozier. We went in to visit because my son was experiencing high fevers (102-103) for several weeks & a rash all over his stomach after having tubes put in. Dr. Dozier spent less than 2 minutes with my husband & son & looked in his ears briefly. He said the tubes were fine & that our son just had a viral infection. He wouldn’t even look at my son’s rash in person. My son then saw the audiologist who mentioned she thought the right tube was likely misplaced. My husband mentioned this to Dr. Dozier & the doctor’s response was “we’ll just have to see what happens”. He neglected to tell us HIMSELF that the tube was falling out. He wouldn’t check my son’s rash, nose, throat, nothing else. We visited an NP at our pediatrician’s office & she quickly diagnosed him as having Strep Throat & Scarlet Fever after testing. She also mentioned that my son's tube was about to fall out. Dr Dozier… should have been able to diagnose Strep Throat easily himself if he cared. He is an ear, nose & THROAT doctor...why would he fail to look at these to determine the cause of my child's illness? Considering a negligence or malpractice suit against Charleston ENT & Allergy & Dr. Dozier.

My daughters Pediatrician recommended us to Dr. Dozier, because my 8 year olds tonsils were bigger than normal. After spending 2 minutes with us he declared that yes her tonsils were bigger than normal but not the biggest he'd seen and unless she had some other problems which she doesn't that he Does Not recommend removal at this time. That's Great, BUT I now have a bill for 2500.00 for him just looking at her throat and spending 2 minutes with us. That is outrageous! I will not be going back and I am going to challenge this with my insurance company.

Dr. Dozier is wonderful. He's nice, smart, and explains things in a way you can understand.
